"APPRECIATING AND PRESERVING THE RICH
CULTURE OF SAN NICOLAS"
(SCENE 1)
(KRIZELLE) Did you know that San Nicolas is rich in culture and traditions?
(ALL) Really??
(CARL) Yes thats true, Lets see and explore the San Nicolas Ilocos Norte
(KRIZELLE) But before we begin our journey into the cultural wonders of
San Nicolas, let's take a moment to acknowledge something truly special.
You see, San Nicolas has not just embraced its heritage; it's also
incorporated it into modern life in a way that's nothing short of
extraordinary."
(SCENE2)
(CHESCA VOICEOVER) San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, is indeed famous for its
unique pottery called "Banga." These earthenware jars, or "bangas," are
an integral part of the town's cultural heritage and have been crafted by
local artisans for generations.
(JOHN VOICEOVER) These Banga jars serve various purposes in the local
culture. They are used for storing water, fermenting local delicacies like
"basi" (sugarcane wine), and even as decorative pieces in homes and
gardens.
(KRIZELLE) Aside from that, San Nicolas also serves a delicious foods, So
lets find out, Let's goo!!

(CHESKA) San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, offers a delectable array of traditional
Filipino and Ilocano dishes. When you visit this charming town, make sure
to try some of these delicious local foods:
(HANNAH) First isBagnet: Bagnet is crispy deep-fried pork belly, and it's a
must-try for any meat lover. It's typically served with a side of bagoong
(fermented shrimp paste) or a dipping sauce.
(SHERYN) And the last one is, Empanada: San Nicolas is renowned for its
special version of empanada. These deep-fried pastries are filled with a
mixture of longganisa (local sausage), vegetables, and sometimes egg.
They are often served with a spicy vinegar dipping sauce.

(KRIZELLE) Yes it is
(CHECA) Starting from the gathering of clay soil to the final step of firing
the pottery, each phase is depicted in the performance. The
accompanying jingle, an Ilocano song titled "Agdamdamili," reflects the
character of the local people, characterized by humility, industry, and a
love for life even in the face of adversity. All the barangays
(neighborhoods) participate in the Street Dance competition, showcasing
vibrant costumes inspired by attire from the past. They incorporate props
representing everyday life, including clay pots, farming tools, and
agricultural animals.
(KRIZELLE) It so fun!
(CARL) Now that we all witness the beauty and culture of San Nicolas I

proud as a San Nicoleño?
(ALTHEA ANSWER) And also for me the Warm and Hospitable Community
people here are friendly and welcoming that’s why i am proud as San
Nicoleño.

preserve the rich culture and traditions of San Nicolas
