ILOCOS REGION
Ilocos Norte, a province in the Philippines' northernmost region, is rich in history, vibrant
culture, and magnificent beauty. The history of Ilocos Norte is as vibrant as its scenery.
When the Ilocos area was separated into two provinces, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur, the
province of Ilocos Norte was formed in 1818. The Ilocanos, noted for their tenacity and
resourcefulness, farmed the land and built the industries that sustained the region for
and culture, from salt manufacture in coastal towns to weaving in interior cities. The
province of Ilocos Norte, located in the Philippines' northernmost area, is recognized for
its gorgeous environment, dynamic culture, and depth of history. Ilocos Norte's colorful
cultural heritage and lasting historical significance stem from a fusion of indigenous,
Spanish, and American influences. We'll uncover the stories behind centuries-old
churches, ancestral homes, and enduring local traditions woven into the fabric of

Vigan’s main draw is its Mestizo district, which is filled with Spanish-style houses that
harken back to a prosperous era when its people lived. A walk or a calesa ride through
Vigan’s Calle Crisologo or Mena Crisologo Street is a must for visitors who want to be
transported back to this period in Philippine Spanish colonial times. While we are
walking around here it’s like we’re back in the Spanish era, the ancient houses are
beautiful and it’s great that they’ve been preserved until now for us to witness or for
future generations. Everyone here is kind and they show that kindness is really in our
race.
We can not help but be in admiration of the magnific Bangui Windmills as we travel
along the Ilocos Norte bank, rising altitudinous against the clear blue sky. These striking
wind turbines demonstrate the fiefdom's fidelity to sustainable development while
producing clean energy. It's so big and we can't do anything but watch it, It's amazing
because they support sustainability because they get energy from the wind. in Bangui,
the people here are always happy when tourists come because they know that this
place is too far away but there are still many people who come here. The energies are
really contagious.
Pottery
We stumble upon the age-old tradition of Burnay crockery. Watching master potters
adroitly earth and shape original complexion into stunning earthenware pots is a
witching experience. We realize that this ancient Ilocano craft produces beautiful and
functional objects and preserves a unique connection to the earth and its rudiments. I
cried when the man started to talk about his life and why he is still doing these burns, I
am even more motivated to do what I am doing now, he was dedicated to what he was
doing even if he was the only one doing it this, it's sad because many forget that this is
one of the things that helped our countrymen, they do their best just to give us a good
In Ilocos Norte, sandboarding in the La Paz Sand Dunes is one of the most well-liked

entertainment and excitement. Whether you're hiking up the mountains, surfing the
waves in Pagudpud, or sliding down the sand dunes, you can be sure that your outdoor
experience in Ilocos Norte will be unforgettable. Our 4x4 driver was surprising because
of his ability to drive and his jokes, he helped us appreciate the place and the view of
Ilocos. It's really natural for Filipinos to be good at making others laugh.
Hidden Garden
Hidden Garden is truly designed for plant enthusiasts. You can find all kinds of
ornamental plants for your landscaping needs here. Of course, everything is for sale.
You can also dine inside, as there is a restaurant in one of the garden's corners. With its
native-inspired design, the open-air café appears to be very cozy. As the owner of
Hidden Garden, he also provides landscaping services. Their staffs are kind and
welcoming, the food is delicious and filling and the place is just so chill that you feel like
a reminder of the four centuries of Spanish dominance in that region, but it is also a
one-of-a-kind structure with a diverse architectural design of bricks and mortar. During
the early administration of the region by both the friars and soldiers of Spain, it was built
on top of a hill not only as a lookout and a citadel, but also as a religious center. My
experience here is very peaceful, the people are really religious, not only was it a tourist
spot but it also restored our faith in the Lord. I am happy to see a church that is still
The Paoay Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another must-see in Ilocos
Norte. This Baroque-style church, known for its massive buttresses, is a testament to
the province’s rich colonial history. My experience here is that people are polite because

invite you to discover the province's distinct charm as you make enduring memories and
enthralling world of tales, tastes, and encounters rather than merely a holiday. You will

I can't recommend anything because the people here are very kind and welcoming, and
those traits are natural to us Filipinos. As for the place, I can't say anything because the
staff is very well taken care of. We know that some of them have become part of history,
and they are trying their best to preserve those things that still exist today.
