ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. TITLE: ONE-DAY CONVERGENCE OF EDUCATION LEADERS FOR PRIVATE


SCHOOLS (CELPS)

II. RATIONALE: The strong partnership forged between the Department of


Education and the private institutions offering the Basic Education
Curriculum (K to 12) provides a formidable foundation that will augment the
effective and efficient delivery of basic education services to the learners. This
is also a functional method to advocate and uphold to the Private Schools the
DepEd MATATAG Curriculum, also known as “Bansang Makabata, Batang
Makabansa,” which aims to address educational challenges, this initiatives
seeks to prioritize the mastery of literacy and numeracy skills among learners 1.
Thus, it is paramount that a forum shall be constantly conducted to keep them
abreast with updates and mandates involving the implementation of the Basic
Education Curriculum.

III. OBJECTIVES: This activity aims to:

a. provide updates on the current policies affecting the operations


and management of private schools offering Basic Education;
b. conduct an election of officers of Private Schools in SDO-Leyte;
c. facilitate open dialogue with the private schools on relevant issues
and concerns;
d. and discuss other related matters.
