(A Reaction Paper)

The film Caught in His Arms written by VentreCanard is based on a wattpad story,
where in the town of Cebu in August 2019 a young girl named Florence Almero who flees
her privileged and wealthy lifestyle after being forced into an arranged marriage by her
father. The film’s story is actually a Romance between the male protagonist Nero Ferell
(played by Allen Ansay) and the female protagonist Florence Almero played by (Sofia Pablo).
Florence finds refuge in the home of a close family friend where she meets five men called as
the Ferell Brothers.

I can say that Caught in His Arms is one of the best story adaptation i’ve ever seen.
The cast portrayed well and give justice to their role. The descriptions of places in the story
really matched in the adaptation. Even the supporting casts of Sean Lucas, Raheel Bhyria,
Vince Maristela and Michael Sager had a strong impact in the film.

However, I do have my scene picks. First is the miscast of Allen Ansay. I was
wondering if there are other actors who looks more mature that were more appropriate in the
role. Second is there were some characters in the story that did not appear in the adaptation.
And finally, there were some clips of the film that shows some confusing scene, where one of
the supporting characters shows anger towards the female protagonist then suddenly suggest
to be friend with her.
Caught in His Arms is a good addition to the list of Philippine story adaptation. The
story is not just about the game of love, but life itself, it gives lessons, as it emphasize that in
every action there is a consequences.
