CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
The study will delve the innovative leadership, exploring how

different leadership approaches and behaviors influence the

development and implementation of innovative ideas. By

examining the characteristics, strategies, and practices of leaders

who have successfully fostered innovation, this research seeks to

uncover a culture of innovation

Furthermore, the study will explore the impact of innovative

leadership styles on organizational outcomes, such as employee

engagement, productivity, and overall performance. By

understanding the relationship between leadership styles and

innovation outcome, organizations can better align their

leadership practices to drive innovation and achieve sustainable

growth.

To conduct this research, a mixed-methods approach will be

employed, combining qualitative interviews with leaders who

have demonstrated innovation practices, as well qualitative

surveys to gather data on leadership styles and innovation


outcomes. The research will focus on a diverse range of

industries and organizations to ensure a comprehensive

understanding of the topic.

Ultimately, the finding of this study aim to contribute to the

existing body of knowledge on leadership and innovation,

providing practical insights and recommendations for

organizations seeking to enhance their leadership practices and

foster a culture of innovation. By investigating innovative

leadership styles in business, this research seeks to empower

organizations to thrive in an increasingly competitive and

dynamic business environment.


A. BACKGROUND THE STUDY

The study on investigating innovative leadership style in

business aims to explore and analyze the various creative

forward-thinking leadership approaches that leaders are adopting

to drive their organizations towards success. This study seeks to

into strategies and techniques employed by innovative leaders to

inspire, motivate, and engage their teams, foster innovation

organizational goals.

The research will also examine the impact of innovative

leadership on employee morale, productivity, and overall

organizational performance. Additionally, the study will

investigate how innovative leaders effectively manage change,

uncertainty, and disruptions that are prevalent in today's business

world.
 PURPOSE BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

A. Investigating innovative leadership style in business involves

examining the ways in which leaders within an organization can

adopt and implement creative and forward-thinking approaches

to leading their teams and achieving strategic goals. This area of

few decades. These external forces have led to increased

D. The efforts made towards addressing challenges in investigating

This study aims to analyze the effect of leadership style and

innovation on business performance. (S Yildiz, 2014).


Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the challenges of innovative leadership?

2. How does innovative leadership affect business?

3. Why do we need innovative leadership style in business

in today’s generation?

C. Scope and Delimitation of the Study

 Scope of a Study

A research study about investigating innovative leadership style

in business on Balingasag.

The scope of a study about innovative leadership style in

business in Balingasag would typically involve examining the

different leadership approaches within the businesses in the

Balingasag area. The study may focus on identifying and


analyzing the various leadership styles employed by business

leaders in Balingasag and how these styles contribute to

fostering within their organizations.

 Delimitation of a Study

1. Sample size

The study will focus on a sample of 10 business leaders from

various industries in Balingasag. The sample will include leaders

from both large and small businesses, representing a range of

sectors such as manufacturing, retail, and services. The study

will specifically target leaders at senior management level,

including CEO’s, Executive, and Department Heads. The

selection of participants will be based on purposed sampling,

considering factors such as the reputation of the organizations,

it’s innovative practices and the willingness of leaders to

participate in the study.

2. Lack of available and/or reliable data

Despite extensive efforts to gather relevant information from

local sources, there was a scarcity of published literature,


research studies or comprehensive databases specifically focused

on this topic within the Balingasag context.

The local business community in Balingasag tends to be

relatively small and close-knit, with limited public

documentation or research conducted on leadership practices

and their impact on innovation. This lack of available data made

it challenging to obtain a broad and diverse range of insight and

perspective from various businesses and industries in

maintaining consistency across interviews.

small business sari-sari store with essential skills to surely

improve the businesses in Balingasag.


Leadership – The result can be inspire and motivate A good

leader has the ability to inspire and motivate their team

members. They set a positive example and encourage their

team to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Sari-sari Store – The result can provide easy access to

essential goods and everyday items within local communities.

They are often located within walking distance making it

convenient for residents to purchase their daily necessities

without having to travel far.

1. Investigating: In the context of this research, investigating

refers to the systematic exploration and examination of

It involves gathering and analyzing data, conducting

research, and drawing conclusions to gain a deeper

2. Innovative: Innovative refers to the ability to introduce

new, creative, and original ideas, methods, or approaches. In

embrace and encourage innovation within their

organizations, fostering a culture of creativity,

experimentation, and adaptation to drive growth and

success.

3. Leadership: Leadership refers to the ability to guide,
