Introduction

Pollution has been a relevant topic in the last decades , because it is a problem that
affects so many ecosystems and obviously so many organisms. (Ewuzie, et.al.
2020).
Pollution is an environmental problem that in recent years has affected the entire
planet to this day. In different places such as air, water, soil, etc., substances are
accumulated and reduce the quality of these spaces, which negatively affect the
surroundings and the environment as well as the living beings that inhabit them. One
of the main causes of pollution in general is excessive litter (plastics and bags). If
litter accumulates in ecosystems, it has great effects on the disappearance of
animals and their destruction. (Ajibade et al., 2021).
In addition, it affects our daily life, such as our health, causing the most common
respiratory diseases, as well as having an impact on climate change due to global
warming caused by greenhouse gases, as well as others that will be shown.

Development

There are so many types of pollution but in this project, we are going to talk about
the best known.
Air pollution is the presence of microscope particles of chemical elements that cause
a damage in the health of the humans and other living organisms. This type of
pollution may be caused for the excessive use of the vehicles in the city, the
industrial waste, forest fires, burning of fossil fuels, etc…
Another type of pollution is the water pollution, which is caused mainly by the
chemicals that industries discarding the rivers or in the ocean, which causes the
water to be filled with all those substances that are toxic for the animals that live
there, and even for us.
The last type of pollution we will talk about is the soil pollution wich the degradation
of the soil as a result of the direct or indirect action of human beings such as poor
garbage management, and even overpopulation that ends with green areas.

One way to treat pollution is bioremediation, which uses microorganisms to clean

contaminate ground and groundwater. Microorganisms are very small organisms,
such as bacteria, that live naturally in the environment. Bioremediation stimulates the
growth of specific microorganisms that use contaminants as a source of food and
energy.
An example of bioremediation is water and ground contamination. This is because
some microorganisms eat and digest pollutants, usually converting them into small
amounts of water and gasses such as carbon dioxide. Microorganisms are added if
the ground or groundwater lacks suitable microorganisms. This process is called
"bioaugmentation." For bioremediation to be effective, the right temperature, the right
nutrients, and the right foods must also be present. Under the right conditions, the
right microorganisms will grow, multiply and consume more contaminants
(Environmental Protection Agency, 2021).

These microorganisms do not present a threat to people. This added for

bioaugmentation usually dies, once the contaminants and appropriate conditions are
removed. The chemicals products added to stimulate bioremediation are also safe.
For example, nutrients added to grow microorganisms are usually used in lawns and
gardens.

Conclusion

In conclusion, pollution is the result of various human activities that cause harm to
the environment and represents a serious threat to the health of ecosystems and
people. It is very serious because if we do not do something quickly the planet will
suffer irreversible damage, so it is important to take the example of bioremediation,
this is just one of the many things that can be done to prevent the pollution.
