Act III Presentations

Each group will be responsible for presenting one scene from R&J in its entirety.
As a group you will need to decide who will play what part. Once you have done this,
do the following:
● Read through the scene and discuss what it is about. Be inventive, funny, sad
(whatever the scene calls for) BUT BE ENTHUSIASTIC! DO NOT BE
MONOTONE!
● Create a scene summary as a group. You may not use the scene summary in your
book. This must be created by the group without consulting any online source or
other aid. (5 points)
● Individually, identify the 3 most important quotations from the scene. Include a
brief interpretation and significance of each quotation. (15 points)
● Each student portraying a character must turn in an in-depth analysis of the
character he/she is portraying. This is to be done individually. You need to
analyze your character in the scene. Describe them, the significance of their
actions, what their purpose is in the scene, how they change, etc. (1/2 page
minimum, MLA, typed) (15 points)
● Lastly, you will be graded individually on your creativity, effort in the group,
and your performance (voice projection, clarity, dramatic interpretation). (5
points)
● If you are not playing a character, you will serve the role of director/prop
coordinator/set designer. You will need to turn in a reflection of your role.
Discuss how you ran your group’s rehearsal in class. What were the
challenges/successes? Describe your vision or concept of the scene and why you
presented the scene in the manner you did. If you designed the set, please
include a floor plan of your scene. (10 points)
