National green hydrogen mission

Introduction.
1. India has set sight to become. Energy Independent by 2047 and. NET Zero Carbon
emission by 2070.
2. Ammonia and methanol are byproduct of green hydrogen.
3. The mission is to produce 5,000,000 metric tonne of green hydrogen annually and
further increase the capacity to 10,000,000 matric tonne for export purpose
4. Cost of electrolyzer and input of renewable energy sources are the 2 major cost for
production of green hydrogen.
5. Another important intervention is to produce and deploy high capacity electrolyzer.
6. Currently the electrolyzer installed arr of capacity 2- 4 gigawatt per annum, but the
worldwide community has planned to increase capacity by 200 gigawatt per annum.
7. In order to remove dependency on global supply, we have to focus on developing our
own electrolyser manufacturing ecosystem
8. Different models have to be explored for production of green hydrogen like solar
rooftop. Power plant and small scale hydro power project.
9. To Minimise requirement of water. The use of waste water from industrial production
and Municipal Corporation is to be used.
10. Port infrastructure required for export of green hydrogen Derivative. is also to be
develop
11. Pipeline will also be deployed for transportation of Green hydrogen and its derivative.
12. Green hydrogen will be deployed in the phased manner and the first phase it will be
implemented in insustrywhich are already using hydrogen
