Badjao

Badjaos have no permanent dwelling and they live on their

boat throughout the years. We can find the village of Badjaos in
the Southern Philippines along tha coastal of Tawi-Tawi, Sulu,
Basilan, and Zamboanga Del Sur. One of their unique practice is
throwing a newly born infant into the sea and members of the
clan can dive to save the newborn because they believe of re-
ascendance of the older in the baby. They are still doing the
prearranged marriage for their son's and daughters and dowry
is often presented to the parents of the woman a man wishes
to marry.
