Final Major Project Initial Ideas

Idea 1
Product: Short film and a poster for the short film
Purpose: The purpose of a short film is to tell a clear narrative to the audience
and doing it on a smaller budget then bigger productions and the poster is to
create engagement for my production
Target Audience: My target audience will be for an teenage and older audience
who love thriller and adventure films
Inspiration: My inspiration for this short film is from looking at other short films
but also how short films have unexpected twist which is something I am
looking to apply to my production
Primary research: Codes and conventions, analysis of short films, look at film
reviews of my genre
Secondary Research: questionnaire, focus group, experimentation, what makes
a good poster, what makes a good short film
Pre-production: risk assessment, location recce, proposal, shot list, list of sound
effects, list of props, list of costumes, production schedule, model release form,
audience profile, poster sketch
Production: The production i will be doing is my rough cut, audience feedback,
logging sheet, evaluating my production, will be filming my footage, gathering
pictures for my poster
Post-Production: The post production I will be doing is my editing decision list,
my final edit of my short film and poster, evaluating my final production,
feedback from audience

Idea 2
Product: Film trailer and a website for the trailer
Purpose: The purpose of a trailer is to attract audience’s to the film by adding
most exciting parts to the film whilst also signifying a storyline
Target Audience: My target audience would be for a teenage and older
audience as it will be a horror genre
Inspiration: My inspiration is through watching various different professional
trailers and seeing how they portray the film in a short space of time
Primary research: Codes and conventions, analysis of different horror film
trailers, reviews of different trailers
Secondary Research: questionnaire, focus group, experimentation, what makes
a good trailer, what makes a good website
Pre-production: risk assessment, location recce, proposal, shot list, list of sound
effects, list of props, list of costumes, production schedule, website mood
board, website flat plan audience profile, storyboard
Production: The production i will be doing is my rough cut, audience feedback,
logging sheet and evaluating my production
Post-Production: edit for my trailer, evaluation my final products, trailer
feedback, website feedback, website editing

Idea 3
Product: Premier league podcast
Purpose: to learn more about a topic, keep up with current events, or because
they want to laugh. A podcast can also be a powerful marketing tool.
Podcasting can be an opportunity to promote your business, broaden your
reach, or market to your existing audience.
Target Audience: My target audience is people who love the premier league
and follow the football on a weekly bases
Inspiration: My inspiration on doing a Premier League podcast is from watching
various different Premier League podcasts in my free time and also being an
avid watcher of the Premier League
Primary research: Codes and conventions, analysis of podcasts, reviews of
different podcasts
Secondary Research: questionnaire, focus group, experimentation, what makes
a good podcast
Pre-production: risk assessment, proposal, running order, interview questions,
script and music plans, production schedule and planning evaluation
Production: filming my podcast and a rough cut of my podcast
Post-Production: I will be doing a production log, final edits of my podcast,
audience feedback, final evaluation
