Project Name PUNJAB ARTERIAL ROADS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Proposed Financing As per discussion with ADB representative, 50% loan amount will
be provided by ADB & 50% by AIIB. Total cost in Draft PC-1 in
lieu of loan is $767.76 M.
As per COBP 2021-23, ADB Loan is $210 M.
Executing Agency C&W Department.
Background Keeping in view the Spatial Strategy of Punjab, up gradation of
major arterial roads is a dire need to provide better connectivity of
agriculture, livestock, tourism, & industrial zones of Punjab with
Motorway and CPEC.
Scope Construction of following roads:
1. Chichawatni-Rajana/Pir Mahal –Chowk Azam-Layyah-
Taunsa (204 KM road)
2. Shorkot-Jung (56 KM road)
3. Hasilpur-Bahawalnagar (75 KM road)
4. Depalpur-Pakpattan Shareef-Vehari Road (150KM road)
Outcome  Safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the road network in
southern Punjab improved
Output  Part of the provincial highway network improved.
 Institutional capacity on road sustainability strengthened.
