A. Mixed Vowels( Short and Long Vowel Sound)
Short vowels sounds words have one vowel and one syllable (ah-eh- ih- oh- uh) cat, jet,
ship, dot, bus.
Long vowels sound words have two vowels and can be one or two syllable words. (cake,
deer, kite, note, cube)
• Label words as short or long vowels.
B. Vowel Team OO
Vowel Digraph oo make the long u sound /oo/.
• Identify oo words in sentences.
• Sort oo words.
• Complete words with oo.
C. Floss+Z Double Consonant Words
• Identify if words have -ff -ll -ss -zz
• Sort words with floss+z pattern and not floss+z pattern
• Complete words with -ff -ll -ss -zz.
D. Inflectional Ending Double consonant
Double the last consonant of a one syllable word that has a short vowel and add -ed or -
ing.
1. Plan- planned -planning
2. Jog -jogged -jogging

• Change words to the past and present doubling the last consonant and using -ed and
-ing
F. Spell the following words dictated by the teachers:
