CHAPTER TWO

Set up a mobile service

Your mobile phone requires an operator SIM card to connect to your
iPhone; Contact your carrier to set up a mobile plan.

Your iPhone can connect to the service provider's network using nano-SIM.
On an iPhone that supports dual SIM, you can use nano-SIM and eSIM (not
available in all countries or regions). Here are some of the many ways to
use a dual SIM card:

Use one for work and the other for personal calls.
Add a local rate plan when traveling to another region.
A separate voice and data plan are available.
Note . To use two different media, you need to unlock your iPhone.

Nano-SIM settings

Insert a paper clip or SIM card remover into the small slot on
the SIM card tray, and then tap iPhone to remove the tray. A
SIM card clip or tool is inserted into the slot on the right side of
the iPhone to press and remove the tray.
Note : The shape and orientation of the SIM card tray depend on your
iPhone model and region.
Remove the tray from the iPhone.
Put the nano-SIM in the tray. The angle of inclination
determines the correct direction.
Nano-SIM is inserted into the tray on the iPhone; Tilt angle at
the top right.
Insert the tray back into the iPhone.
If you have previously set a PIN on the nano-SIM, enter the
PIN carefully when prompted.

WARNING : Never try to guess your SIM card PIN. Incorrect predictions
may lock your SIM card permanently, and you may not be able to make
calls or use cellular data through your service provider until you receive a
new SIM card.

Important : Nano-SIM may be required to use mobile services when

connecting to GSM and some CDMA networks. iPhone enabled on CDMA
wireless networks can also use nano-SIM to connect to GSM networks,
mainly for international roaming. Your iPhone complies with a wireless
policy, which may include restrictions on switching and roaming, even after
the expiration of any service contract. The minimum required. Contact your
wireless service provider for details. The availability of cellular capabilities
depends on your wireless network, iPhone model, and location.

Set up your mobile rate with eSIM

On models that support eSIM, the operator's eSIM is stored digitally on the
iPhone.

Go to Settings> Cellular, and then tap Add Cell Rate.

Position the iPhone so that the QR code provided by your
carrier appears in the window, or enter the details manually.
You may be asked to enter a verification code provided by your
service provider.
Tap Add cellular tariff.
If the new plans are your second line, follow the on-screen
instructions to determine how you want the plans to work
together.
Besides, you can activate your mobile tariff through the
operator application (if supported). Go to the App Store,
download the program of your operator, and then use this
program to activate the tariff plan.
You can store multiple eSIM cards on your iPhone, but you can
only use one eSIM card at a time. To switch eSIM, go to
Settings> Cellular, tap the plan you want to use, and then tap
Enable this line.
Manage your mobile plans

When setting up on dual SIM models, you can choose how your iPhone will
use each line. To change the settings later, follow these steps:

Go to Settings> Mobile Phone.

Do the following:

Tap Cell Data, then select the default bar. To allow iPhone to
use any line, depending on coverage and availability, turn on
Allow cell data transfer.
If data roaming is turned on and you are outside the area of ??
your service provider's network, you may be charged for
roaming.
Tap the default voice line, then select a line.
In Cellular, tap a line, and then change settings, such as Cellular
label, Wi-Fi call (if available from your service provider), Calls
to other devices, or SIM card PIN. Tags are displayed in
Phones, Messages and Contacts.

When using two SIM cards, note the following:

For one line, you need to turn on calls over Wi-Fi to allow that line to
receive calls while the other line is used for the call. If you receive a call on
one line when the other is used for calls, and there is no Wi-Fi connection,
iPhone uses the cellular data of the line used for the call to receive a call
from the other line. A fee may be charged. The line used for calls should be
allowed to use the data in your cellular settings (as the default route or as
the default route when Allow cellular data is enabled) to receive calls on
another wire.

If you do not have a Wi-Fi call on the line, all incoming calls on that line
(including emergency calls) will be sent directly to voicemail (if available
from your service provider) when using another line; You will not receive a
notification about missed calls. If you have set up conditional call
forwarding (if available from your service provider) from one line to
another when the line is busy or not working, calls will not be sent to your
voice mail .; Contact your service provider for configuration information.

If you make a call from another device, such as a Mac, by forwarding it to

an iPhone with a dual SIM card, the call will be made using the default
voice line.

If you start an SMS / MMS conversation from one line, you cannot transfer
the conversation to another line; You need to delete chats and start a new
one using the other side. In addition, you may incur an additional charge if
you send an SMS / MMS attachment over a line that is not selected for
mobile data.

Instant Access Point and Personal Access Point use the media selected for
mobile data.

Use the SIM card PIN for your iPhone or iPad

Lock the SIM card with a PIN (personal identification number) to request
the identification of phone calls and to use mobile data.

To protect your SIM card from others who use it for phone calls or mobile
data, you can use the SIM card PIN. Then, every time you restart your
device or remove the SIM card, your SIM card is automatically locked and
you will see "SIM locked" in the status bar.

Turn the SIM card PIN on or off

If you have an iPhone, go to Settings> Cellular> SIM PIN. If

you have an iPad, go to Settings> Cell Data> SIM PIN.
If prompted, enter the SIM card PIN. If you have never used it,
enter the default SIM card PIN from your service provider. If
you do not know the default SIM card PIN, do not try to guess
it. Check the customer service page of your operator or the
documents attached to your tariff plan. Or you can contact your
service provider.
Click Finish.

If you forget or do not know your SIM card PIN

Never try to guess your SIM PIN or PUK code. * An incorrect guess can
lock your SIM card forever, and then you will need a new one. If your
device asks for a PIN or a code without your knowledge, here's what to do:
Contact your service provider who has provided you with a SIM card. If
you are not sure which operator to call, remove the SIM card and check the
operator's name or logo. Ask your service provider to help you unlock your
SIM card with the default PIN or PUK code. If you cannot unlock the SIM
card using the SIM PIN or PUK code, or if the message says "PUK is out of
place", ask for a new SIM card.
