Licensure Exam & Registration
Registration Required
- Upon the effectiveness of R.A. No.
10587, no person shall practice or offer
to practice environmental planning in the
Philippines, without having obtained
from the EnP Board and the
Commission, a Certificate of
Registration and a Professional
Identification Card of a Special
Temporary Permit.
Examination Required
- Unless provided otherwise under R.A.
10587, all applicants for registration for
the practice of environmental planning
shall be required to pass the
professional licensure examination
Qualifications for taking the Exam
- Bachelor’s degree in EnP, Urban and
Regional Planning – at least 2 yrs of
on-the-job training
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in
Architecture, Engineering, etc – 3 yrs of
on-the-job training
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture,
Engineering, etc – 5 yrs on-the-job
training
- 80 hours of in-service training
(failing these ^ shall be allowed to take the exam
within next 5 yrs)

Positions in Govt with EnP Functions (Section

38)

Set qualifications of standards for EnP

- 5 years from the effectiveness of RA
10587, only licensed EnP shall be
appointed to the position of heads and
assistant heads of groups, dept., etc.
- violation = considered null and void

Transitory Provisions (Section 41)

- Within a period of 3 years from the

effectivity of RA 10587, local govt units
may continue to issue appointments to
persons who are not registered EnP’s
for the position of national or local
planning and devt. coords.
