“A RESOLUTION ADOPTING NATIONAL NUTRITION COUNCIL GOVERNING

BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 02 SERIES 2012 “THE REVISED IMPLEMENTING
GUIDELINES ON OPERATION TIMBANG PLUS (OPT PLUS) FOR BARANGAY
AGNIPA, ROMBLON, ROMBLON”

WHEREAS, Section 15, Article II of the 1987 Philippine Constitution provides that
“The state shall protect and promote the right to health of the people and instill
consciousness among them;

WHEREAS, Section 447 (s) of the Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as
the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that: The Sangguniang Bayan, as the
legislative body of the municipality shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions and
appropriate funds for the general welfare of the municipality and the inhabitants
pursuant to Section 16 of this Code and xxx;

WHEREAS, nutrition plays a vital role in an individual’s growth and development

with growth measure of an individual health and nutrition well-being;

WHEREAS, two methods of growth assessment in communities in the

Philippines are being implemented, namely: Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP),
the individual child regular growth monitoring for counselling and intervention, and the
conduct of mass weighing referred to as Operation Timbang (OPT);

WHEREAS, OPT Plus is the annual mass weighing with the addition of the
measurement of length or height of all preschool children;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as it is hereby resolved by the
Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay Agnipa to adopt National Nutrition Council
Governing Board Resolution No. 02 Series 2012, “The Revised Implementing
Guidelines on Operation Timbang Plus (OPT Plus);

BE IT RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to all

concerned for their information and guidance;

APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Sangguniang Barangay this 16th day of

February 2024 at Barangay Agnipa, Romblon, Romblon
