RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8976 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS

“AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE PHILIPPINE FOOD FORTIFICATION PROGRAM
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES” IN BARANGAY ANIPA, MUNICIPALITY OF
ROMBLON, PROVINCE OF ROMBLON”

WHEREAS, R.A. 8976 is an act mandating the fortification of staple foods and voluntary
fortification of processed foods or foods products;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Local Government of Barangay Agnipa recognizes that food
fortification is considered important in the promotion of optimal health and to compensate for the
loss of nutrients due to processing and/or storage of food;

WHEREAS, under Section 15 of Article 11 of the Philippine Constitution provides that

the state shall protect and promote the right of health of the people and instil health
consciousness among them;

NOW THEREFORE, the Sangguniang Barangay of Agnipa in BNC meeting assembled,

upon motion of Hon. Alona M. Magallon, duly seconded by Hon. Hon. Aroun M. Mingoa, be it;

RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to adopt R.A. 8976 otherwise known as

“AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE PHILIPPINE FOOOD FORTIFICATION PROGRAM AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES” in Barangay Agnipa, Romblon, Romblon.
