‘Pause, Rewind, Play’

Effective Communication Assessment Task

Task Description:

The purpose of this task is to demonstrate your understanding of how effective communication
can be used to solve problems and manage conflict.

 In groups of 3 or 4, you will write your own fictional scenario in which a character is
presented with a problem. No real names, places or situations should be used.
 Your scenario should have three different endings - one demonstrating passive
communication, a second showing aggressive communication, and a third that exhibits
assertive communication.
 At the end of each scene, you will ‘pause’ and explain the benefits and potential
implications of the communication method used.
 You will then ‘rewind’ and replay the scene again, this time using a different method of
communication.
 All students must be involved in their groups’ video.
