GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF MMS SIP REPORT


(Prescribed Format and Specification)

• Purpose : To connect the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with the
practical reality in the external Corporate world.
• Duration : 60 Days (2nd May to 30th June 2023)
• Aim : Project Report to be of mutual benefit (Company & Academia)

Below documents has 4 Sections

Section A : Documentation
A.1. GENERAL:

The guideline is intended to provide broad plan to the MMS student in the preparation of the project
report.

A.2. NUMBER OF COPIES TO BE SUBMITTED FOR EVALUATION:

Students should submit soft and 3 hard copies for evaluation as per instruction given

(1 : Company, 1 : Institute and 1: Student)

A.3. SIZE OF PROJECT REPORT:

The size of project report should have 50-60 pages of typed matter calculated from the first page of

Chapter 1 to the last page of the last chapter.

A.4. PAGE DIMENSIONS AND MARGIN:

The dimensions of the Final Black Bound copies of the project report:

• Standard A4 size (297mm x 210mm) paper may be used (Layout→size→ A4)


• Margin:

Top Edge: 1.38’ to 1.8’

Bottom Edge: 1.0 to 1.2’

Left side: 1.377 to.1.57’

Right side: 0.787 to 0.98’

A specimen copy of the Cover page & Title page for the project report is given in Annexure I.

C.2 Various Certificate& Declarations: <ANNEXURE III, , will be shared with you >

• The certificate shall be in double line spacing using Font Style Times New Roman, Font Size 12,
as per the format shown in Annexure II.
• The certificate shall carry the signatures of student, Guide, Project In-charge.
• The Bonafide certificate shall also carry the Examiner’s signature obtained at the time of Viva-
voce.

C.3 Executive Summary:

Abstract should be an essay type of narration not exceeding 600 words, outlining the problem, the
methodology used for tackling it and a summary of the findings, when typed double line spacing,
Font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 12 and signed by the candidate.

C.4 Acknowledgement:<ANNEXURE IV will be shared with you >

The acknowledgement should be brief and should not exceed one page when typed in double spacing. The
candidate’s signature shall be made at the bottom above his / her name typed in capitals.

C.5 Table of contents: :


• The table of contents should list all material following it as well as any material which precedes it.
• The title page, Certificate and Acknowledgment will not find a place among the items listed in the
Table of Contents but the page numbers in lower case Roman letters are to be accounted for them.
• One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.

C.6 List of Table

The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear above the tables in the text. One and a half
spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.

• Tables and figures should conform to the margin specifications and should not blur in the report.
• Large size figures should be photographically or otherwise reduced to the appropriate size before
insertion.
• All tables and figures should be prepared on the same paper or material used for the preparation of
the rest of the project report.
• Two or more small tables or figures may be grouped if necessary in a single page.
• Photographs if any should be included in the colour form only. More than one photograph can be
included in a page.

C.7 List of Figures

The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear below the figures in the text. One and a half
spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.

• Appendices, Tables and references appearing in appendices should be numbered and referred at
appropriate places just as in the case of chapters.
• Appendices shall carry the title of the work reported and the same title shall be made in the
contents page also.
