ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONS
The following steps are necessary for a trouble - free assembly of the LOKRING:

1. Tube Tolerance

Outer diameter: d1 ± 0,1


d3 ± 0,1

Wall thickness of the outer tube: s ± 0,05

Min. flaring length L (cylindrical part): LOKRING length + 3 mm


Inner diameter of the outer tube: d2 = d1 + 0,2 mm
Groove depth: max. 30µm

Preparation of the tubes:

The tubes should not exceed the max. length of the depth of the scores and the depth of the spiral
grooves within the area of the joint. Additionally the tube ends should be free of oil and grease. The
effect of oxidation or scale be minimized. Prior to assembly the tube ends should be deburred.

2. Assembly

2.1 Assembly direction

Slide the LOKRING over the inner tube. Noting that the chamfer situated at the outer diameter
of the LOKRING face.

2.2 Move the tubes within each other to at least “LOKRING - length + 3 mm” (In case of a flared
tube to the stop).

2.3 Apply LOKPREP 61 between the tubes. The quantity to be used is dependant on the diameter,
howerver it must be sufficient to ensure that the tube surfaces are completely covered. As gui-
dence: 1 drop up to a tube diameter 8 mm for larger diameters process of trial and errors until
the correct amount is obtained. After application of LOKPREP 61 assembly can take place after
approximately 20 second.

2.4 Move the LOKRING up to the outer tube.

2.5 Assembly

2.5.1 Assembly - flared tube

Place the tool in such a way, that the clamp jaws are closed behind the flare of the outer tu-
be. Move the tool over the tube and during this process the clamp jaws will open. The tool is
then pressed against the outer tube so as to ensure that the clamp jaws are closed. Move the tool
axially, as long as the jaw - situated opposite - receives the LOKRING and presses it against the
flared tube. During the process of placing and moving the tool you have to take care, that the
inner tube doesn´t slide out of the flare. To start assembly press the release button and
“hold”until the machine automatically switches off. The tube can then be removed from the o-
pened tool.

2.5.2 Assembly of a non - flared tube

Place the tool in such a way, that the champs jaws situated on the side of the outer tube.Press
the LOKRING together with the jaw, situated the opposite, side against the outer tube. Move
the tool over the tube and during this process the clamp jaws will open. The tool is then pressed
against the tube, so as to ensure that clamp jaws are closed. The clamp jaws, situated oppsite,
are simultaneously pressed against the outer tube, until the LOKRING reaches ist position on
the base of the receiver. During the process, placing and moving the tool, you have to take care,
that the inner tube doesn´t slide out of the flare. To start assembly press the release button and
“hold” until the machine automatically switches off. The tube can then be removed from the
opened tool.

3. Visual control

A good LOKRING joint will have an excess length of the outer tube, at the LOKRING - end, of
1 - 3 mm.

Screw the grub screw pos.29 into the piston tip pos.3 and lock it by using the
grub screw pos.45.

Push the pressure spring over the piston body pos.2.1 of the
piston body complete pos.2.

Push the bush pos.58.1 complete with the both piston guiding rings pos.58.2
over the pressure spring pos.11.

Lock the bush complete pos.58 at the piston body pos.2.1 by using the
piston tip pos.3 and the grub screw pos. 29.
Screw the piston tip pos.3 and the grub screw pos. 29 complete inside the
piston body pos. 2.1.

Take this unit and push it into the empty casing pos.1.
Please take notice that the running faces of the piston tip must be in a right angle to
the torsion bore of the grub screw pos. 42.

Push the distance sleeve pos.61 over the piston tip pos.3 and screw the tool head
pos.4 at the casing pos.1.
Lock this unit by using the grub screw pos.42.
