January 12, 2021, As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Jijamata Jayanti refers to the
birth anniversary of Jijabai, the mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the
Maratha Empire in western India. Jijamata Jayanti is celebrated to honor and remember the
contributions of Jijabai in shaping the life and legacy of Shivaji Maharaj.
Jijabai, also known as Rajmata Jijabai, was a strong and influential figure in Shivaji's upbringing.
She played a crucial role in instilling values of courage, leadership, and justice in her son.
Jijabai's guidance had a profound impact on Shivaji Maharaj's character, ultimately influencing
the establishment of the Maratha Kingdom.

maternal influence, valor, and leadership in shaping the destinies of historical figures and, by
extension, the course of history itself. The continued observance of Jijamata Jayanti underscores
