LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH (GRADE 5)

L.C. Identify point-of-view (EN5LC-IIIh-3.17)

I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the discussion 80% of grade 5 students are expected to:

a. identify the point-of-view of a story

b. participates and answers the follow-up questions about the short story

c. create your own story using the different types of point-of-view.

A. ACTIVITY

The teacher will read a short story to the class, then the teacher will give

(3) three questions based on the short story provided.

Rosa is starting to get tired. She had been waiting for her

mother for eternity. “How big is the market anyway? I am so hungry,

and mother is still not here,” Rosa thought. She was already

considering buying from the small cafeteria on the opposite street,

but children cannot go out during the quarantine period. All Rosa can

do is be patient and talk to her growling tummy friend.


B. ANALYSIS

The teacher will ask a series of questions to validate if the students have a

little understanding of the topic based on the activity given.

1. What is Rosa doing?

2. Where did mother go?

3. Who is narrating the story?

4. What have you observed in the short story provided?

5. What is the possible topic for discussion after you read the short story?

C. ABSTRACTION

The teacher will thoroughly discuss the types of viewing materials by using

videos and other forms of visual aid. The students are expected to listen to and

comprehend all the specific topics that are being discussed.

D. APPLICATION
Direction: Identify the type of point of view. Write FP for the first person, SP for

the second person, and TP for the third person point-of-view.

“Miss Granny” by Sarah Geronimo. Emmy thought she should purchase a plate

of nachos, French fries, and a big cup of popcorn, but her friend thought she

shouldn’t. Emmy purchased the food anyway.

________ 2. Tina went to her best friend’s house for home study. When she got

there, she started to wonder how many cats her best friend had. They went

outside and rode their bike for 15 minutes, went back to study, and then she went

back home.

________ 3. “Do you love eating apples?” I asked my friend Lanie. I always

make friends with other people.

________ 4. Justin was rushing to get to school because he was going on a field

trip. Justin felt so happy and excited that he was going on his first field trip of the

year. Justin thought that everything was going to be a great day ahead.

________ 5. First, you need to wash your hands and gather all your ingredients.

Once you’ve done that, follow all directions in your cookbook. Put your mango

float treats in your oven and cook for 20-30 minutes. While your mango float

treats were cooking, you might want to clean your workplace. When you take the

mango float treats out of the oven, Pour the honey and lemon sauce on

immediately. Once the

mango float treats are cooled, you and your friends can enjoy them now.

IV. ASSIGNMENT

Direction: Compose a short story on your own.

1. Create your own story.

2. Write in not less than 5 sentences on a half crosswise paper.

3. Choose which point of view to use in making your own story.

4. Select a suggested topic wisely.
