§ A three-judge bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief

Justice D Y Chandrachud constituted an expert committee to
balance the conservation and protection of the endangered Great
Indian Bustard bird population with the country’s international
commitments to promote renewable sources of energy.

§ The large-winged birds are on the brink of extinction, with one of

the causes being frequent collision with high-powered power
cables running adjacent to its core habitats in Gujarat and
Rajasthan.
§ The panel would determine the scope, extent and feasibility
of underground and overhead electric lines in areas identified
as priority spots for the birds in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Haiti to the Dominican Republic.

§ The Hola Mahalla will run for 3 days each in Kiratpur Sahib and

in J&K

§ GoodEnough Energy will set up a Battery Energy Storage

Systems (BESS) gigafactory in Jammu and Kashmir with an initial
capacity of 7 gigawatt hour (GWh).
§ At full scale, the factory will have 20 GWh capacity by 2026.
§ The facility will help industry in cutting more than 5 million tons
of carbon emissions in a year.
§ India has set a 2070 goal for becoming net zero.
§ Indian government is offering $452 million in incentives to
companies under a programme to promote battery storage
projects.

§ ISRO has achieved a major milestone in the area of Reusable launch

vehicle (RLV) technology, through the RLV LEX-02 landing experiment,
the second of the series, conducted at Aeronautical Test Range (ATR),
Chitradurga in Karnataka

§ This mission successfully simulated the approach and high-speed

landing conditions of RLV returning from space.

§ Pushpak (RLV-TD) landed autonomously with precision on the runway

after being released from an off-nominal position.
§ The winged body and all flight systems used in RLV-LEX-01 were
reused in the RLV-LEX-02 mission after due certification and
clearances.

§ Hence reuse capability of flight hardware and flight systems is

also demonstrated in this mission.
