SCORING: Your final score comes from combining the R and W sections (66.6%)
and the Listening Exam (33.3%). You will be given a Refer (<50%), a Pass
(50-69%), a Merit (70-84%) ora Distinction (85%+).

The Speaking Test


The Speaking Test is an optional extra test, nota part of the standard test. lt is
usually done with two students and an examiner. There are three parts (called
'tasks '). The speaking test (for two students) takes about 8 minutes.

~m A 1 ri a 1 There are not rnany grarnrnar differences. Those differences are very small. Far
exarnple, British people often use 'Have you got...?' ' l've got... etc. but Americans
use 'Do yo u have ... ?', 'I have .. .' etc.

D Spelling Differences
1. In British English the final 'I' is often doubled. traveling travelling
2. Sorne words that end with -or in AmE end with -our in BrE. color colo ur
