1.0 SCOPE

This specification describes the requirement of chemical and utility hoses & hose
connections to be installed on the offshore platform.

2.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The equipment shall be furnished in accordance with the requirements specified in the
datasheet and as outlined hereunder.

2.1 Hoses

2.1.1 The manufacturer shall guarantee the suitability of the hoses for the service and
working conditions indicated in the P&ID’s and data sheet.

2.1.2 The requirement of Materials, Construction, Dimensions and Testing of Hoses

shall be as per applicable codes.

2.1.3 Nipples shall be built-in-type i.e. vulcanised with the Hose such that normal
flexing and stretching will not subject it to stresses, which might cause
breakage/damage.

2.1.4 The nipples shall have male threads and be made from seamless pipe
conforming to ASTM A312 TP 316, unless stated otherwise.

2.1.5 Each hose shall be tested at full vacuum as well as hydrostatically tested at two
times the working pressure, or at 21.0 kg/cm2g, whichever is higher.

2.1.6 Electrical continuity test shall be carried out for non-metallic hoses and shall
fulfill the requirements of applicable codes & standards.

2.1.7 The length of finished hose assembly shall not differ from nominal length by
more than +2% and -1%. For this purpose the hose assembly shall be
measured after being subjected to tests. All hoses shall be of single hose
lengths.

2.1.8 All hose assemblies shall be suitable for Marine Environment and shall be
resistant to ageing, abrasion, sun and mildew.

2.1.9 All hoses shall be non-collapsible type and shall be able to withstand full suction.

2.1.10 Vendor shall specify bend radius for the Hoses.

2.1.11 All potable water hoses shall be FDA approved type. All hoses for chemical
diesel and hydrocarbon service shall be fire-resistant type as per United States
Coast Guard (USCG) regulation.

2.1.12 All the external hardware shall be suitable for offshore service where the
atmosphere is salt laden and corrosive.

2.2 Hose Connections

Type of Hose connections shall be as per the datasheet. Type of Hose couplings shall
be as follows:

a. KAMLOCK Type Hose Couplings (KAMLOCK 633-D Series with NPTF ends)
with adapter (KAMLOCK 633-A Series with NPTF ends) and dust plug
(KAMLOCK 634A / 634B series)

b. Foster one-way shut-off 6-series industrial interchange quick detachable type

plug and socket for use in hose connectors.

c. Flanged couplings as per respective piping class.

2.2.2 Materials
Body (coupler, adaptor and dust plug) - SS316 type unless otherwise specified.

Cam Arms and Pins - SS316 unless otherwise specified.

Gasket - PTFE / Buna-N.

Material for flanged couplings shall be as per respective piping class.

2.2.3 Quantity and end connections shall be as per data sheet.

2.2.4 Unless otherwise specified, matching pipe side coupling shall be supplied along
with the hoses.

2.2.5 For Hose end connection details, refer Page 6 of 6.

2.2.6 Hydrostatic Test

Each coupler, adaptor and dust plug shall be subjected to a hydrostatic test at
21kg/cm2g or at two times the working pressure whichever is higher.

3.0 TAGS

Tag nos. shall be marked on SS-316 materials and shall be permanently attached. Size
and service shall be stenciled at each end of hose and at every 5.0 M intervals.

4.0 SITE CONDITIONS & CLIMATE

For Site Conditions refer specification no. 6347-40-16-56-SP-03 titled “Site Conditions
and Climate”.

5.0 VENDOR DATA

Vendor data shall be furnished in accordance with Specification for Vendor Data
Requirements, “6347-40-16-44-SP-04”.

6.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

Company or its authorised representative(s) reserve(s) the right to witness the tests.

7.0 SPARES

7.1 Vendor shall recommend and provide spare parts needed for start-up and
