1.0 SCOPE

This specification describes the requirement for the design, fabrication, test & supply
of Eye Wash & Safety Shower to be installed on the offshore platform.

2.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The “Eye wash & Safety shower” shall conform to the description given below.

2.1 Floor mounted, combination Eye/Face wash and Safety shower is required to be
provided (quantity as per data sheet) within the toxic areas and chemical handling
areas for immediate/emergency use.
2.2 Eye/Face wash shall be operated by means of foot pedestal operated whistle valve
and safety shower by self closing shower valve to be actuated by pulling a chain at
an easily accessible level from the floor.
2.3 Stand pipe shall be 1.1/2” IS-1239 (HVY) galvanized pipe and this unit shall be
provided with impact/ chemical resistant Cycolac Deluge shower head and
receptor.
2.4 A general arrangement is given in the attached sketch (sht. 5 of 5) which also forms
part of this specification.
2.5 The unit shall meet the requirements of OSHA rules and regulations.
2.6 Testing
The unit shall be shop tested hydrostatically at 7.0 kg/cm² (g).
2.7 All external hardware shall be suitable for offshore service where the atmosphere is
salt laden and corrosive.
3.0 TAGS

Tag Nos shall be marked on SS-316 material and permanently attached.

4.0 SITE CONDITIONS

For site conditions and climate refer to specification no. 6347-40-16-56-SP-03.

5.0 VENDOR DATA

Vendor shall furnish arrangement drawing and operating instructions for review.
Vendor data shall be furnished in accordance with Specification for Vendor data
requirement, “6347-40-16-44-SP-04”.

6.0 SPARES

Vendor shall recommend and provide spare parts needed for the start up and
commissioning.
Vendor shall also recommend & supply spare parts needed for one (1) years
operation and maintenance.

7.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING

Company or its authorized representative(s) reserve(s) right to witness the tests.

8.0 WARRANTY

Vendor shall have final and total responsibility for the performance of all equipment
supplied under this specification.
Vendor shall warrant that the equipment furnished by him and the performance of
the said equipment is in accordance with this specification and Specification for
General Technical Requirements, “6347-40-16-44-SP-01”.
