1.0 SCOPE

This specification defines the minimum requirements for Helicopter Rescue Kit to be
installed on the offshore platform.

2.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Helicopter Rescue Kit shall consist of the following items:

i. Crowbars 2 Nos.

ii. Fire axes 2 Nos.

iii. Bolt Cutter 1 No.

iv. Fire Blankets 2 Nos.

v. Hand Safety Lamps 2 Nos.

vi. Protective Clothing 2 Sets

vii. Hacksaws 2 Nos.

viii. Hacksaw Blades 2 Nos.

ix Rescue Knives 2 Nos.

The material of all the above items shall be suitable for the service intended and shall
also suit the site conditions.

3.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1 The Container shall be made of SS-304 material and the base channel shall be
100 mm x 50 mm x 5mm thk. in SS 304. It shall be suitable for bolting on to Deck
Plate and overall container shall be less than or equal to 1.6 m. Length x 0.5 m Width
x 1.0 m Height.
3.2 All the components shall be kept in clearly marked and easy to remove cartons stored
in such manner that there is no rattling or spilling over when the container is being
shifted.
3.3 The Helicopter Rescue Kit shall be installed near the Helideck.

4.0 APPROVALS

The Helicopter Rescue Kit shall be approved by the Mercantile Marine Department
of Government of India or equivalent statutory authority like U.S Coast Guard;
Department of trade. U.K. etc. Adequate certificates shall be furnished in this
respect.

5.0 WARRANTY

Vendor shall have final and total responsibility for the design, fabrication and
performance of all equipments supplied under this specification.

Vendor shall warrant that the equipment furnished by him is in accordance with this
specification and Specification for General Technical Requirements, “6347-40-16-44-
SP-01”.

6.0 SITE CONDITIONS

Equipment shall be designed for an offshore location with site conditions as given in
6347-40-16-56-SP-03, “Specification for Site Conditions and Climate”.

7.0 VENDOR DATA

Vendor shall furnish data for proposal approval and dossier in accordance with 6347-
40-16-44-SP-04. “Specification for Vendor Data Requirements”
