Sub. Clarification regarding clause no. 4.0 (i) "Mandatory Teacher Training" of the
AICTE Regulation 2019 published on March, lst 2019.-Reg.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Council is in receipt of numerus representations from faculty members and letters
tiom Vice Chancellors/Directors o1'l-echnical Education seeking clarification on mandatory
teachers training applicable for senior faculty members for their eligible promotion to higher
scalcs. It has come to the notice of Council thal the promotions to higher scales of f-aculty
members are held up due to the want of mandatory fulfilment of training. In that regard, the
following clariflcation is issued.
The appointing authority/State Directorate of Technical Education/affiliating
universities are advised not to hold the cases of eligible career advancement of senior faculty
members for the want of fulfilment of training. Their cases can be considered even without
fulfillnrent of mandatory training and such taculty member may be advised to lulfil the
Training Requirementfor Promotion of Teachersfrom ill the disciplines as per Annexure -
lllof AICTE Gazette NotiJication doted 01.03.2019 within atime frame of l2 month.s from
the date of issuance of this clarification subiect to the fulfilment of other conditions as

envisaged in the rcspective notification fbr promotion to higher scale. [-lowever. the relevance

o1' courses under gone by laculty members with more than.5 years' experience, as a paft of
fulfilment of training shall be ascertained by the appointing authority/Affiliating
University/Directorate of Technical Education as the case may be applicable to.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
