EMBASSY OF THE PHILIPPINES IN BRASILIA

Position: Translator and Secretary to the Ambassador

Details: This is a full-time on-site position located in Brasília, DF. The Translator and
Assistant will be responsible for providing translation services to the Philippine Embassy in
Brasilia. In addition, as secretary to the ambassador, the main responsibilities would include
managing the ambassador's schedule, handling correspondences, arranging meetings and
events, and providing administrative support to the ambassador and other diplomatic staff.
You may also be responsible for maintaining records, organizing travel logistics, and
facilitating communication between the ambassador's office and various government
departments or international organizations. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail,
discretion, and excellent communication abilities are essential for this role.

Qualifications

● Fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken

● Excellent communication skills with expertise in translation and interpretation

● Ability to work in a multicultural environment with a deep understanding of different


cultures, customs, and traditions

● Bachelor's degree or higher in languages, international relations, political science,


public administration, or a related field

● Ability to multitask and work under pressure, with excellent time-management and
organizational skills

● Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive
information

● Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software

● Familiarity with diplomatic protocols and procedures is advantageous

● Prior work experience in a similar role is a plus

Working hours: 9-6PM, Monday to Friday.
