MUSIC PART 1.
Music- is made up of sound and silences. It has rhythm too.
Sound- is anything you can hear. The rain and wind make sounds.
Pleasant sound- The sounds are gentle and nice to the ear.
Unpleasant Sound- These sounds hurt your ear, noise makes you feel angry and restless.
Silences- When we do not hear any sound.
Rhythm- refers to the way sound and silence are arranged in music. Also called as “the heartbeat of music”.
Chants- rhythmic games are half sung and half-spoken.
Rhythmic patterns- are done by means of clapping or tapping or snapping.
Ostinato- is a repeated melodic or rhythmic pattern. A short tune or rhythm that goes on and on in the same
voice.
Instruments that use in making ostinato pattern: (Drums, sticks and bamboo sticks)
Tones- are arranged to give a sound that is nice to listen to. This sound is called melody or tune.
Pitch- is the highness or lowness of a sound.
Simple melodic patterns- are different notes or pitches that are put together to make music that is pleasing to the
ears.
Echo singing- is a good exercise to develop listening and singing skills.
Form – is the structure of music which includes beautiful tones.
Musical lines- are notes, tones, and words that flow in a song or a music piece.
Timbre- is a quality of a musical tone voice that makes it different from or alike with other voices or
instruments.
Speaking voice- is what you use naturally every day to talk to other people.
Singing voice- uses a much wider range of volume and pitch.
Dynamics- is the loudness and softness of musical sound.
Volume- loudness and softness in music.
Softness- is the quality of sound when the voice or instrument is heard at a normal volume.
Tempo- is the pace or speed of sound in music. Fastness and slowness of music.

Texture- is the thickness or thinness of sound quality.
