Course Description

This course is designed to assist students in developing expertise and in- depth understanding
in the field of Pediatric Nursing. It will help students to develop advanced skills for nursing
intervention in various pediatric medical and surgical conditions. It will enable the student to
function as pediatric nurse practitioner/specialist. It will further enable the student to function
as educator, manager, and researcher in the field of Paediatric nursing

Objectives

At the end of the unit the students will be able to:

1. explain the surgical disorders in respiratory system

2. explain the anomalies of nervous system
3. explain the anomalies of the genito-urinary system
4. explain the Anomalies of the skeletal system
5. explain the surgical Eye and ENT disorders disorders
6. explain the nursing management of the child with traumatic injuries
7. explain the surgical oncological disorders
8. explain the Management of stomas, catheters and tubes
9. explain the Management of wounds and drainages
