Dear parents,
FOCAL POINT!
How have you been? Today we had our opening day where
parents came to have a one on one with the teachers of their children.
Here are a few noticeable discussions:
1) Reduced and controlled screen time - We recognize the importance of
limiting screen time for our learners. As partners in their growth, we
encourage you to join us in fostering a healthy balance. Let's work
together to create screen-free zones and allocate specific times for
technology use, ensuring quality interactions beyond screens.
2) Giving children age appropriate chores at home -
Assigning age-appropriate chores is a fantastic way to
instil responsibility and life skills in our learners. We
invite you to collaborate with us by incorporating two or
three simple chores at home, tailored to your child's
capabilities. This collaborative effort will contribute to
their sense of accomplishment and independence.
3) Detailing on children’s work – We received complaints from a few
parents on the regular errors their children make when writing. A
criteria for good handwriting (note taking inclusive) has been created
and communicated to teachers for reinforcement of good writing. We
propose regular updates on children's work, detailing their progress and
areas of focus. By staying informed, we all can actively engage in their
learning process and provide additional support where needed.
4) Rushing children through the schooling process -
Together, we can create an enriching environment that
nurtures well-rounded individuals. Your active participation is
fundamental to the success of these initiatives. If you have any thoughts
or suggestions, we are eager to hear them.
