Introduction

Pollution is one of the world's greatest problems: the ozone layer, greenhouse gas emissions,
carbon dioxide, water, and air pollution.

These are things related to this topic. The ozone layer protects you from ultraviolet radiation.
Greenhouse gases prevent some of that heat from leaving the atmosphere. Water pollution
endangers many underwater animals and can disrupt food chains.

Air pollution can contain harmful chemicals that can cause diseases like asthma.

Affects it applies on earth (paragraph 2)

- The ozone layer contains ultraviolet radiation which can cause skin cancer. It can also
kill bacteria (good and bad) which disrupts food chains.

- Greenhouse gases prevent heat from leaving the atmosphere making it very hot. This
can also melt ice caps in colder countries which can overflow oceans.

- Water pollution. Plastics have a substance called microplastic within them. They are
dangerous to water and can kill them, disrupting the food chain and eventually leading to
us.

- Air pollution is contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical,

physical, or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere.
The harmful chemicals that the air contains can cause diseases such as asthma.

How it affects the economy : (paragraph 3)

- The ozone layer causes many diseases that can be deadly so hospitals would be full
and have not enough stuff to treat people. People could not go out because they would
get sick easily, so many couldn’t get paid.

- Greenhouse gases can lower agriculture fields, reducing labor productivity from farmers.

- Water pollution. If fish die because of microplastics and suffocation, some people's main
source of meat would decrease in sales, meaning fishermen would have no jobs.

- Air pollution can make it very dangerous to go out. Asthma can be deadly to many lungs.
Medical expenses would be too much for some people to pay and no choice but to die.
Tourism also decreases because of poor air quality.
Statistics: Paragraph 4

Ozone layer: Tropospheric ozone exposure is responsible for an estimated one million premature
deaths yearly. The thickness of the ozone layer has decreased by 5%, and that's this year only.

Greenhouse gases: Global carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels and industry totaled 37.15
billion metric tons (GtCO₂) in 2022. Emissions are projected to have risen 1.1 percent in 2023 to
reach a record high of 37.55 GtCO₂. Since 1990, global CO₂ emissions have increased by more
than 60 percent.

Water pollution: 90% of sewage in developing countries is discharged untreated directly into
water bodies. Every day 2 million tonnes of sewage and other effluents drain into the world's
water. Industry discharges an estimated 300-400 megatonnes of waste into water bodies every
year.

Air pollution: Air pollution contributes to 11.65% of deaths globally

Globally, air pollution contributed 11.65% of deaths in the latest year. The map shown here
shows the share of deaths attributed to air pollution worldwide.

How to solve the problem :

3r’s ( reuse reduce recycle)

Renewable energy (Use the energy that can be renewed and not just used one time)

Public transport (Instead of using cars, try using bikes or public transport. This can also
help save money)

Conclusion:

Think about how people are affecting our new generations and our future. We are
causing harm to ourselves and to our own environment. We should do something to
protect it. Emphasize it more and extend it( etc.)

Introduction :
What is pollution about? Is it dangerous? Can it lead to death? If you are curious, this is just the place
to figure out.

Pollution is one of the world's greatest problems. It can vary from greenhouse gases to the ozone layer
decreasing. If you thought that that was bad, there are many types of pollution. Since there are too
many, the two we are talking about today are water and air pollution.

How are these topics harmful? Well, that's what we are going to talk about today. Does it affect the
economy and statistics, how does affect us and the earth?

How does it affect the Earth?

Ozone layers
This single problem can, if not solved, have more kills than the Covid-19 pandemic. If the ozone layer
decreases, ultraviolet radiation enters our earth. If there is too much exposure on our skin, it can cause
skin cancer.

The ultraviolet radiation can also cause bacteria to die. You are probably wondering, isn’t that a good
thing? Well, no. Some parasites and insects feed on the bacteria. Without food, those animals will die
and the ecosystem will be disrupted.

Greenhouse gases
Greenhouse gases prevent heat from leaving the surface. This makes the country very hot meaning that
ice caps will melt. Polar bears will drown and somehow die. This disrupts the food chain in the Arctic
areas.

How does that affect people in the city? Did you know that if half of the ice caps on Earth melt
including the biggest one, the whole world would be flooded and global sea levels would rise 70 meters
high.

Water pollution
Water pollution is a serious problem that affects aquatic life and the environment as a whole. Plastics,
in particular, contain microplastics which are dangerous to the water and can disrupt the food chain.

This can lead to a decrease in the population of underwater animals which can eventually affect
humans.

Air pollution
Air pollution is the contamination of the air by any chemical substance in the air that disturbs the
natural quality of the air in the atmosphere. The harmful chemicals that the air contains can cause
diseases such as asthma. It can also cause other respiration problems.

Economical problems
Economical problems. Are you wondering what and how these problems can affect the economy? Well,
read along.

Greenhouse gases
Greenhouse gases can have a significant impact on the economy. The increase in temperature due to
greenhouse gases can lead to climate change, causing natural disasters such as drought, floods, and
hurricanes. This can damage crops, buildings, and property, leading to economic losses.

Ozone layer
The depletion of the ozone layer can have significant economic impacts. The increase in ultraviolet
radiation due to the depletion of the ozone layer can lead to an increase in skin cancer cases, which can
lead to poor health.

Hospitals would have to deal with more patients than usual suffering from skin cancer, which can lead
to a shortage of medical staff and resources. People may also be afraid to go outside due to the increased
risk of skin cancer, which can lead to a decrease in tourism, leading to an economic loss.

Air pollution
Tourism is something that is hit hard by air pollution. Poor air quality can stop tourists from visiting a
particular place, leading to less income from tourism revenue. This not only affects the tourism
industry but also the local businesses that depend on tourism.

Air pollution also affects the transportation sector. The cost of maintaining vehicles increases due to
the damage caused by air pollution. This, in turn, affects the overall productivity of transportation.

Water Pollution
Water pollution can lead to a decrease in the population of fish and other aquatic life. This can result in
a bad income for the fishing industry, which can be a significant source of income for people living by
the sea.

The treatment of polluted water can be very expensive, and the cost for consumers is higher water bills.
This can be a burden on low-income families, who may struggle to pay for necessities like clean water.

Statistics
Numbers. What happened to people who were targeted by these horrifying obstacles? We are going to
be talking about how much things have changed through numbers.

Greenhouse gases
Global carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels and industry totaled 37.15 billion metric tons
(GtCO₂) in 2022. Emissions are projected to have risen 1.1 percent in 2023 to reach a record high of
37.55 GtCO₂. Since 1990, global CO₂ emissions have increased by more than 60 percent. This means
that greenhouse gas emissions are at their highest peak since 1990.

Ozone Layer
Tropospheric ozone exposure is responsible for an estimated one million premature deaths yearly. The
thickness of the ozone layer has decreased by 5%, and that's this year only. In comparison, covid 19
lasted three years and had six million deaths combined. The ozone layer has over the years caused more
than one million deaths.

Water pollution
90% of sewage in developing countries is discharged untreated directly into water bodies. Industry
discharges an estimated 300-400 megatonnes of waste into water bodies every year. This is stupidly
insane as one megaton of waste is equivalent to 1 million tons. Imagine 300.

Air pollution
Air pollution contributes to 11.65% of deaths globally. There were 161 million people that have died in
2023. 11.65% of 161 million is more than 18 million deaths just because of air pollution.

How to stop these problems.

Littering. Some of the causes of pollution. Pollution is an issue that seriously affects our planet.
Luckily, there are many ways to prevent it.

3 R’S: One of the easiest ways to reduce pollution is to practice the 3 R's - reduce, reuse, and recycle.
This can help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and can help conserve natural
resources.

Renewable energy: Use Renewable Energy Sources: Renewable energy sources like solar and wind
power can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Use Public Transportation, Carpool or Walk: Using public transportation or carpooling can help
reduce the number of cars on the road, which can reduce air pollution.

Conclusion
In my opinion, we are just causing harm to ourselves. We created these problems and we are getting
punished for it. Even if people are trying to reduce these problems, we would need the whole world to
contribute to this so our future generations are safe to live on this earth. We cannot be the cause of the
deaths of people. Especially if we have a way to prevent it and even better, stop it fully.
