What is a STEM/STEAM?

“STEM” stands for science, technology,


engineering and mathematics.
“STEAM” adds art to the equation.

explore the microcosm; to create
chemical reactions, to study the
properties of different states substances.

2. Technologies: creation and


programming of a robot; development
of a mobile application; creation of a
website.
3. Engineering: construction and testing of bridges; design and
prototyping of rockets; design and construction of an electrical
circuit.
4. Mathematics: solving complex problems using algebra and
geometry; data analysis and statistics; weather forecasting.
5. Art: creation of digital
illustrations; design of
clothing models; sculpture
and drawing.
“STEM/STEAM projects contribute to the development of
creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration and
preparation for future career opportunities in rapidly
developing industries.”
