AREA (Considered as Side Room)
For the selection of the lux applied, two standards need to be considered, one for the lux requirements of the client
and the other one is the IESNA Standard. For the areas in Third floor, the lux requirements of the client will be
going to consider since the values of the client’s requirements is higher than the IESNA standards, it’s easier to
manipulate the lux output than to add the quantity of the lighting fixtures. One of the ways to control the lux
output is to have an alternate switching layout. For the Second floor, brine tank room and Hypo generating room
should follow the IESNA standard because it is considered as Machine Hall. For the Electrical room, Intake local
control station and Distribution local control station since both Client’s requirement and IESNA Standard has the
same value, 500 lux will be going to used. For the Pump room and Chemical Storage Area, it is considered to use
the IESNA Standard to have a brighter output and it’s much easier to control the lighting output.

Based on the consolidated data from 1st submission to proposed lighting design calculation, there are areas that still need
to provide another lighting design, these rooms are pump room, water quality test room, conference room and operation
and monitor room as shown in the table below. For the remaining room, if the values will be based on the range of client’s
requirements to IESNA Standards, previous submission is already within the range and its already accepted. Client’s
comment for those previous submission needs to verify because the values they’re referring is the minimum lux output.
This output is usually in the perimeter of the room. Average Lux should be considered for finalization of the lighting
design since this is the lux output in the most part of the room. Also see the sample of the comments from the engineer for
common reference since the value of the 1 st submission is already accepted in the range of the standards however the
comments of the engineer are the value is not satisfying.
