Loyalty to King and Country means that the King is
the symbol of the country's sovereignty and of the
solidarity and freedom of the people. The position of the Malay Rulers cannot be questioned. All citizen of the country must be loyal to the King.
The King, that is the Yang diPertuan Agong is the
symbol of the nation, disloyalty to the king is considered disloyalty to the nation. Loyalty to the King and the country is very important as a citizen in Malaysia. Every citizen in Malaysia have to be loyal, honest and sincere to our King, Yang diPertuan Agong and our country.
Patriotism is a kind of strong passion which
inspires one to serve and be loyal to the country. As a citizen in Malaysian, we should show loyalty and willing to sacrifice for our country. Respecting the nation's symbol such as Jalur Gembilang, the national flag and Negaraku, the National Anthem are also an important role for us.
In additional, primary and secondary schools play
their roles in order to increase and promote the spirit of patriotism among Malaysians. For example, stand straight when singing Negaraku during assembly and organize activity such as patriotic song competition in school.
Next, the government must play the most
important part to handle patriotism problem. The government will choose randomly to decide who are going to the National Service course for three months. Through this course, the youths will have the opportunity to mix with different people from various races, religious and culture background which the young citizens in Malaysia will have a better and deeper knowledge of other races and eventually they will respect other peoples.
In conclusion, a loyalty and patriotic spirit must be
instilled in the hearts and minds of all citizens in Malaysia. For Malaysian to become strong and developed nation, much more needs to be done. Malaysians should understand to show loyalty to the King and the country is not just the responsibility of the government, but also for all who do it for the love of the country.
