CAUSE AND EFFECT ESSAY-CLIMATE

CHANGE

It is said that climate change is the talk of these days in every corner of the world. For
many, climate change has reached a point in which it is difficult to return to normality.
This can seem like a reality, however, if we change small habits in our daily life, we
can fix it. Nowadays, climate change can be perceived as the increment of natural
disasters, the change of the atmosphere CO2 and the constant variations of the conditions
in a lot of animal’s ecosystems.

One of the main causes of climate change is the changing of atmospheric CO2 which is
increasing every year. Experts have noticed that we produce more carbon dioxide
because we produce more than natural things can eliminate. This has created more
greenhouse effect which warms up the earth, this can cause the melting of the glaciers,
the rising of the sea levels, changes in habitats, etc. This is all caused by human action
that has been producing more and more CO2 over the years.

Secondly, we have an increase in natural disasters. In the past years, there have been a
lot of things such as droughts or storms, the rising of global surface temperatures causes
the earth to dry and it's also “a fuel for stronger storms to develop” as experts from the
USGS said. In addition, long periods of droughts can produce a lot of wildfires in many
forests around the world and destroy “the lungs of our land” as Franklin D. Roosevelt
said.

And last but not least climate change has also produced changes in the conditions
of a lot of animal’s ecosystems by damaging the terrain and affecting the quality
of the flora that herbivorous animals eat, this affects the food chain which also
affects humans. If we make positive changes to our behavior we can stop this
from aggravating and becoming a bigger problem for animals and humans. As
Jane Goodall once said “only if we understand, can we care. Only if we care, we
will help. Only if we help, we shall be saved”.
In conclusion, climate change is an important subject because it is affecting our
lifestyle and our surroundings in a bad way. It affects our atmosphere which is
essential for the air we breathe. In addition, it also affects to animal’s ecosystems
by destroying their habitats and finally it is actively increasing the number of
natural disasters that happen every year in a lot of countries.
