ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to help the farmers to improve their crop fields with

the use of Red Sage (Lantana Camara) leaves as pesticide. This is the procedure on

how to make a pesticide by using Red Sage (Lantana Camara) leaves. Wash the Red

Sage (Lantana Camara) leaves with water and then chop the leaves using mortar and

pestle or a blender, put a little bit of water and then using a fabric cloth to transfer the

extract of the leaves in a container. As a result, the researchers finally made a pesticide

using only the leaves of Red Sage (Lantana Camara). The leaves of Red Sage

(Lantana Camara) is good as pesticide because this plant can repel insects and pests.

Also, Red Sage (Lantana Camara) has chemicals that can kill insects and pests, such

as Terpenoids (For disrupting the nervous system of insects and pests), Flavonoids (For

repelling the insects and pests), and Alkaloids (To disrupt the reproductive processes

of insects, reducing their egg-laying capacity). In conclusion, the researchers

emphasize the possibility of Red Sage (Lantana Camara) as a pesticide and this

research also shows the good that this plant can help crops and especially farmers. In

addition, this research also shows the properties of Red Sage (Lantana Camara) that

can kill insects and

pests.
