d. How do I register for a sport?

An athlete (student) can register for a sport by choosing the sport of his/her choice while
filling the registration form. The registration of the participant for his/her sport will be
confirmed only once the payment and verification of documents is complete. In case of
Team Sports, your selection in a team will be at the sole discretion of the School
Coach/Authority

e. What is the School Registration Fee for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

The School Registration Fee for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 is Rs.1,000 (inclusive of
GST). With this fee, a registered school is-

f. What is the Athlete (Student) Registration Fee for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

There is a fixed cost of Rs. 450/- inclusive of GST for the first individual event an athlete
(student) registers for. After which an athlete (student) would have to pay Rs. 250/- inclusive
of GST for every additional event that the athlete (student) would like to take part in.

For team sports, each athlete (student) would have to pay Rs.250/- inclusive of GST to
register and be a part of the team.

g. What are the modes of payment available for registration?

The registration process is completely online and paperless. Schools and athletes (students)
can choose to pay via the following options:

h. Can an athlete’s (student’s) registration be transferred to another athlete (student)?

No. An athlete’s (student’s) registration is unique and cannot be transferred to another

athlete’s (student’s) registration. Each athlete (student) has to register individually and obtain
his / her unique SFA ID in order to participate.

2. SCHOOL FAQ’s

a. Which schools can register for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

We welcome all schools from Uttarakhand. All types of aided, unaided, private and
government schools can register & participate at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

b. Should my school be from a certain board to participate in the SFA Championship

Uttarakhand 2022?

SFA through its Championships wants to create a level playing field for all schools. There is no
restriction on the school entries based on the education board. Schools from all boards: ICSE,
CBSE, SSC, NIOS, IGCSE and IB are invited to register for the SFA Championship Uttarakhand
2022.

c. Will both, co-ed and non-co-ed schools, be able to register?

SFA through its Championships wishes to provide equal sporting opportunity to all school
players. All schools, co-ed and non-co-ed, are invited to participate in the SFA Championship
Uttarakhand 2022 across all sports.

d. How will participating in the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 help my school?

SFA through its Championships provides an equal platform to athletes (students) in 20+ sports
to show their sporting talent. By participating in the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022,
schools are

o Eligible to appear in the SCHOOLS RANKING TABLE.

o Eligible to win awards and prizes for the school
o Able to access the online school profile with statistics, records and achievements

e. What is the registration fee for Schools to participate in the SFA Championship Uttarakhand
2022?

The School Registration Fee for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 is Rs.1,000/- (inclusive of
GST). This fee will allow schools to register unlimited SFA registered athletes (students) in all
sports (based on their selected package) as well as avail all the services provided by SFA
mentioned in point d

f. Are players from a registered school expected to pay a separate Registration Fee to
participate in SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

Yes, in the interest of maintaining a high quality of competition across all sports at the SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022, a Registration Fee will be charged to athletes (students)
from registered schools which will enable them to participate in the SFA Championship
Uttarakhand 2022 and avail the following services-
o Professional Standard Infrastructure and Facilities
o Certified and Quality Match Officials & Referees from recognized Sport Associations
o Instant Medical Support and On-court Physiotherapist
o Access to Hydration Centers
o Talent Scouting and Scholarships

g. Will SFA provide transport to athletes(students) from registered schools?

No, there will be no transport facilities that will be provided to athletes (students) for the SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022. Schools are expected to make their own transport
arrangements to all the venues of the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

h. Is it necessary for schools participating in other sporting tournaments, to take an NOC from
the governing bodies of those tournaments?

It is NOT necessary for schools to take an NOC from governing bodies of any other sports
tournaments that they may be participating in, to register and participate in the SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

Kindly note the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 will take place for 20 days at a stretch
across multiple sports. It is an Olympic style inter-school competition. We try to ensure that
there is no clash with any other inter-school tournaments. We encourage schools and players
to play as many tournaments around the year as possible, to improve and excel in sports.

i. What is the SFA School Ranking System?

 The SFA School Ranking System has been devised to showcase the ranking of all schools in
Uttarakhand, on the basis of their performance in multiple sporting disciplines at SFA. Each
medal won by a player/team of a school’s contingent in an event category, adds to the points
tally of the school ranking system in the following manner:
For Individual Sports:
i. Gold Medal = 5 Points
ii. Silver Medal = 3 Points
iii. Bronze Medal = 1 Point

For Team Sports:

I. Gold Medal = 15 Points
II. Silver Medal = 10 Points
III. Bronze Medal = 5 Point
Kindly note: Doubles and Relay are considered as individual sports in the SFA Ranking System

The team with the most points at the end of the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 will be
crowned CHAMPIONS!

j. How many players can participate from the registered schools?

Schools registered with SFA can register as many athletes (students) as they would like for the
SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

k. How many sports can the registered school participate in?

Schools registered with SFA can participate in as many sports as they would like to. We
encourage schools to take part in multiple sports enabling their players to experience the
multi-sport culture at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

l. What does the basic school registration fee of Rs.1,000 include?

The school Registration Fee of Rs.1,000/- (inclusive of GST) will enable the school to
participate in the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022. This Registration Fee provides:
o Professional Standard Infrastructure and Facilities
o Eligible to appear in the SCHOOLS RANKING TABLE.

m. What if the school does not have athletes (students) to participate in all these sports?
 SFA provides a multi-sporting platform for the schools so that they can identify their sporting
prowess in various sports by identifying athletes (students) they might not be aware about. In
any case it is not necessary for a school to participate in all the sporting disciplines
compulsorily but we encourage schools to try and maximize the opportunities made available
to the players.

n. Will the school name reflect on the school ranking table even if the school does not
register?

No. Only those schools who Register for the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 will reflect
on the schools ranking table.

o. If the school does not register or cancels the registration can the athletes (students) of the
school still participate at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

Yes. The athletes (students) can still be a part of the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 and
represent their school across multiple sports and events.

3. SPORT FAQs

a. How many sports will be conducted at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?
SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022, is a multi-sports Championship which will see 20+
sporting disciplines. They are:

● Individual Sports: Archery, Athletics, Badminton (Singles), Boxing, Chess, Judo,

Shooting, Skating, Table Tennis (Singles), Taekwondo, Karate, Tennis (Singles)

● Doubles: Badminton Doubles, Table Tennis Doubles, Tennis Doubles

● Relays: Athletics Relay & Swimming Relay

● Team Sports: Basketball, Football, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball,

Baseball

b. What are the age groups for each of the sports?

 SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 allows participation from athletes (students) between
age groups U-5 to U-19. However, age groups vary from sport to sport as advised by
respective sporting associations and federations. Click here for more information on age

c. What is the role of sports governing bodies at SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

SFA believes in giving all grassroots level players the highest professional sporting
experience. Majority of our sports partners are National, State and District associations and
federations. These organizations play an extremely crucial role in providing a professional
experience by way of lending their expertise to their respective sport i.e. certified officials,
draws and schedules, talent scouting, rules and regulations of the sport, infrastructure,
equipment consultancy and so on.

d. What are the cut-off dates for each age group?

The cut-off dates for each age group vary from sport to sport and can be viewed on the ‘age
and event category page’. Click here to view the cut off dates for each age group.

e. Can an athlete (student) /team participate in multiple age groups and events?

Each sport has a different set of participation guidelines. Kindly note the below mentioned
guidelines are subject to SFA’s eligibility criteria, age cut off dates and the player registration
package selected:

i. Team Sports (Basketball, Baseball, Handball, Volleyball, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi)

a. Athletes (students) can register for multiple age groups but cannot
participate in two teams of the same age group.
b. A school can register an unlimited number of teams in each age/event
category. However, SFA holds the right to refuse a second team from any
school basis availability in the draw
c. All team members must be from the same school

ii. Individual Sports

a. Archery
A player is expected to adhere to the following rules when it comes to selecting
events for this sport:
● U-10 - Indian Bow Only
● U-14 - Indian Bow AND Recurve Bow OR Compound Bow
● U-17 - Indian Bow AND Recurve Bow OR Compound Bow

b. Athletics
 ● An athlete (student) can Register in only one age group (U-6, U-8, U-10
etc.) per event (for e.g. 100m, Long Jump, Shot Put)
● An athlete (student) can Register for a MAXIMUM OF 2 Individual events

c. Badminton Singles
● An athlete (student) can Register in only one age group (U-11, U-13,
U-15 & U-17) per event. For e.g. In badminton if a player has
participated in the U-11 Girls Singles category she is NOT ALLOWED to
participate in U-13 Girls Singles, U-15 Girls Singles & U-17 Girls Singles
categories.

d. Tennis and Table Tennis (Singles)

● An athlete (student) can participate in multiple age and event categories

e. Boxing, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo

● An athlete (student) can Register in only one age group (U-7, U-9, U-11
etc.) per event (for e.g. Kumite & Kata)
● An athlete (student) can participate in only ONE weight category
● Weight category is not applicable to Karate – Kata

f. Chess
● An athlete (student) can Register for one event category only

g. Shooting
● An athlete (student) can Register for the same event category across
different age groups as long he or she meets the age criteria and has
selected the appropriate athlete (student) registration package

h. Skating
● An athlete (student) participating in Quads will not be allowed to
participate in Inline and a person participating in inline will not be
allowed to participate in Quads.
● An athlete (student) can Register in only one age group (U-6, U-8, U-10,
U-12)
● An athlete (student) can Register for unlimited events pertaining to
his/her age group depending on the player package selected

iii. Doubles
a. Badminton Doubles, Tennis Doubles & Table Tennis Doubles
● An athlete (student) can Register for one age group only
 ● Both athletes (students) must be from the same school

iv. Relays
a. Athletics Relay
● Athletes (students) can participate in only ONE age group if they meet
the above-mentioned age criteria / cut-off dates.
● A school can register only TWO teams per event category
● All team members must be from the same school
Note:
● Athletes (students) need to choose the appropriate athlete (student)
registration packages to participate in more than 1 event.
● For doubles, the partner will be sent an OTP which will have to be
entered correctly by the athlete (student) filling the form. The doubles
partner will have to be from the same school.
● For Athletics relay, only your school will be able to form the teams. If
your school has not registered and you would like to participate in
Athletics Relay, kindly ensure that all four athletes (students) are from
the same school. You can send us an email on UK.support@sfaplay.com
and we will complete your sports registration for you.
● For Swimming relay, athletes (students) or the school can complete the
sports registration. If one athlete (student) is selecting the swimming
relay team, the remaining 3 athletes (students) will receive an OTP
which will have to be entered into correctly by the athlete (student)
selecting the team. All four athletes (students) must be from the same
school.
● For team sports, only your school will be able to form the teams. If your
school has not registered and you would like to participate in a team
sport, kindly ensure that all athletes (students) are registered and from
the same school. You can send us an email on UK.support@sfaplay.com
with the team list (Athlete (student) Name, Captain, Goalkeeper & SFA
IDs of all team members) and we will complete your sports registration
for you.

f. What is the eligibility criteria to participate in the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

SFA, along with its sports partners have devised an eligibility criterion for each sport basis
which player entries will be selected. The eligibility criteria vary from sport to sport and is
available on respective sports pages. Click here to view the same.

g. Can a member of a team be replaced after Registration?

 Yes, any member of a team can be replaced one day prior to the commencement of SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022 by sending a request to the registered email address of SFA
-UK.support@sfaplay.com. The athlete (student) will have to be the one whose name has
been mentioned in the reserves list by your school coach/captain at the time of registering
the team

h. Will SFA provide sporting kit/gear to players?

No, SFA will not be providing personal kit/gear to any athletes (students). All athletes
(students) are expected to bring their own sporting gear/kit.

i. When will the draws and schedules be announced for the SFA Championship, Uttarakhand
2022?

All draws, and schedules will be published on our website www.sfaplay.com at least 15 days
prior to the Championship. All registered schools and players will be notified via emails,
whatsapp and SMS on their registered email IDs and mobile numbers.

j. What procedure will be followed when an athlete (student) reports to the venue’s main
registration desk?

Athletes/ (students) Teams must report at the venue’s main registration desk 60 minutes prior
to their scheduled match time. On reporting, each athlete (student) will have to show their
school ID and birth certificate to validate their details, after which their IDs will be verified
and allocated. After this, athletes (students) will have to proceed and report to the
registration desk of the respective sports that he/she will be participating in, 15 minutes prior
to their scheduled match timing.

k. Is it mandatory for the school’s entire contingent to arrive at the venue at the same time,
even though different players have matches on different days or different times?

No, it is not necessary for the school’s entire contingent to arrive at the venue at the same
time. Athletes (students) can arrive as and when they have their matches. However, we
encourage schools to send in as many students and parents to support their athletes
(students).

l. What will happen if an athlete (student) or team fails to reach for his match at the
scheduled match time?

The opposition athlete (student) or team will get a walkover if the athlete (student) or team
fails to report according to the scheduled time of the match. However, this decision is left
solely to the discretion of the certified match officials.
m. What is the procedure to lodge a protest?

In the event that an athlete (student) wishes to lodge a protest against his/her/ their
opponent with respect to age or any other unfair practices etc. he/she will need to follow
the below mentioned steps:

o Contact the tournament director/SFA Representative

o Fill out the protest form
o Pay a deposit of Rs. 1000/-
● The protest committee will arrive at a decision within a maximum of 48 hours.
● In the event that an athlete (student) is found to be overage and has been
disqualified SFA will not be liable to conduct a rematch of any athlete
(student)/team who may have lost to him/her in the interest of the time.
However, the overage athlete (student) will be disqualified without any prior
notice. The athlete (student) may also face a ban on participating at the SFA
Championship of up to 3 years. The same will be mentioned on his/her sporting
profile on www.sfaplay.com
● To entertain genuine protests, SFA has taken the decision of levying a protest
fee. Handling protests is a time-consuming process and has an impact on the
schedule of the other matches scheduled for any given day. Hence, it is critical
for SFA to entertain only the genuine ones to be able to provide a seamless
sporting experience.
● SFA assures that all athletes (students) will be given fair and equal treatment
irrespective of the registration packages.

4. GENERAL FAQs

a. What are the venues for the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

The SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 is going to be held at the Maharana Pratap Sports
Complex, Pavilion Grounds & the Parade Ground at Dehradun.

b. What are the security arrangements at the venue?

We recognize the fact that there will be close to 1,00,000 athletes (students) and visitors
across all the venues, and thus adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure
that children have a safe and sport conducive environment.

c. Will visitors be asked for an ID proof at the venue?

 Yes, visitors will be asked to produce an ID card to enter the venue. SFA Sporting Services Pvt.
Ltd. holds all the rights to allow or disallow any individual into the venue at its sole discretion,
in the interest of safety of all children and visitors.

d. How do I arrive at the venue?

Schools and athletes (students) are expected to make their own transportation arrangements
to and from the venue. School buses and private vehicles will be allowed only till the
designated drop-off point at the venue. School buses and private vehicles will be permitted to
park inside the premises in the designated parking areas on a first-come-first-serve basis.

e. Are the athletes (students) being provided with sports gear?

No, athletes (students) must carry their own sports gear.

f. Is it compulsory for school officials to accompany athletes (students) during the

tournament?

It is not compulsory for school athletes (students) to be accompanied by a school

coordinator/manager during the event. But SFA encourages parents, well-wishers, school
coordinators and non-participating students to come & support their respective school
contingents thereby enhancing an athlete’s (student’s) sporting experience.

g. Can parents, school children and other well-wishers come to view the matches?

Yes, parents and children are welcome to the venue and cheer for their school’s contingent,
even if they are not participating in any sport. Over & above this, they will also have an
opportunity to engage in all the activities & workshops planned for that day.

h. Do the non-participating visitors have to pay any entry fee?

To facilitate more support for the athletes (students) & to create a sporting atmosphere there
will be no entry fee charged to any visitor at SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.

i. Will the SFA Championship take place every year?

Yes, SFA Championships will be held every year to provide the best platform for the young
athletes (students) to showcase their sporting talents. With an Olympic style structure, the
SFA Championship aspires to be the most prestigious annual inter-school sports
championship that athletes (students) and schools can look forward to, at a specific time
every year and become part of Uttarakhand’s sporting calendar.

j. If an athlete (student) has completed his/her matches/sport at the SFA Championship

Uttarakhand 2022, can he/she still come to the venue for the remaining days?
 Yes, in case an athlete (student) finishes playing his/her sport or does not progress to the
higher stages of the tournament he/she is most welcome to be at the venue and cheer for
his/her school’s contingent.

k. What is the duration of the event?

The SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 will be conducted between 20th April and 10th May
2022. The final sport wise schedule will be published on our website i.e. www.sfaplay.com at
least 15 days prior to the Championship. The matches will be conducted from 8 am to 5.30
pm on all days of the schedule; however, schedules for different sports may vary. There will
be special considerations for few sports which may require more time to be completed.

l. What documents need to be carried by athletes (students) during the tournament?

Every athlete (student) must carry his/her school ID card along with his/her age proof (Aadhar
Card Preferred) at all times during the tournament. No athlete (student) will be allowed to
play the match if they do not have a valid age proof along with their school ID. Athletes
(students) must produce their ID cards when required during the tournament. These details
are mentioned on the website in the sports rules and regulations. Click here for more details.

m. Why do athletes (students) need to report 60 minutes prior to their match time?

It is essential for the athletes (students) to report at the venue at least 60 minutes prior to the
game in order to start the matches as per the scheduled time. There will be two registration
desks – the main registration desk to report the entry of the athlete (student) at the venue
and the other will be a sports specific registration desk, where the athlete (student) will have
to report at the time his/her match is announced. Details regarding the reporting time for
athletes (students) are mentioned on the website as well as in the sports registration rules
and regulations.

n. Will the athletes (students) be provided with food and water at the SFA Championship
Uttarakhand 2022?

Free water and Energy Drinks will be available to the athletes (students) at all times during
the course of the Championship. Food stalls will be made available at the venue to serve you
delicious food and athletes (students) may bring their own snacks and drinks.

o. Does the participant have access to all parts of the venue?

 Yes, we would love for all children and parents/coaches to experience the sporting
atmosphere of our Championship and hence there are no restrictions with respect to venue
access. However the playing area of every sport will be restricted only to the athletes
(students), officials and SFA staff. Seating arrangements will be made for spectators. There
will also be certain areas which will be restricted only to SFA personnel and management.

p. Does the athlete (student) have to be present at the venue on all days?

It is not necessary for the athlete (student) to be at the venue on all days. The athlete
(student) only needs to come when his/her match is scheduled. However, at all times there
are various games, activities and workshops going on at the Championship and we would love
all children to experience the same.

q. Will the athlete (student) get a certificate of participation?

Yes, a certificate of participation will be given to all athletes (students) at the SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022. Please make sure that you collect the participation
Certificate during the Championship. A digital version of the same will be made available on
your player profile on www.sfaplay.com

r. Can an athlete (student) register on the spot?

No. Spot registrations are not accepted at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022. The
athlete (student) must register himself/herself before the last date of registration.

c. Can athletes (students) from schools outside of Uttarakhand participate in the SFA
Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

This Championship is for schools and athletes (students) from Uttarakhand. SFA will be
conducting similar Championships in other states & cities very soon.

d. What is the registration fee for athletes (students) to participate in the SFA Championship
Uttarakhand 2022?

There is a fixed cost of Rs. 450/- inclusive of GST for the first individual event an athlete
(student) registers for. After which an athlete (student) would have to pay Rs. 250/- inclusive
of GST for every additional event that the athlete (student) would like to take part in.

For team sports, each athlete (student) would have to pay Rs.250/- inclusive of GST to register
and be a part of the team.

e. For team sports (Including doubles & relay) should all the members of the team be
registered and be from the same school?

Yes, to be part of a team sport (Including relay and doubles) a team and/or athlete (student)
must fulfill the following criteria:
● Registered and verified for SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022
● Must be from the same school.

f. Is it okay if every member of a team (Including doubles & relay) registers separately or is it
necessary for them to register at the same time?

Registration for the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 (Athlete/student Registration) can
be done individually. The athletes (students) do not need to register at the same time,
however, it is necessary to ensure that ALL members of a team have completed the athlete
(student) registration process and have selected the sport of their choice.

g. Does my school need to be registered if I want to register my team for a team sport?
 No, any athlete (student) can register a team (Provided all the team members are from the
same school) even if the school is not registered for the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022.
All the team members will have to first complete the athlete (student) registration process
and select the sport of their choice. The captain of the team can then email the team list
(Along with SFA ID, Captain and Goalkeeper (Wherever necessary) at
UK.support@sfaplay.com and we will register the team for the Championship.

h. Can I participate in multiple events at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?

Yes, SFA is a multi-sport Championship that provides athletes (students) with a platform to
explore their sporting prowess across multiple sports.

i. Are the athletes (students) being provided with sports gear?

No, athletes (students) must carry their own sports gear.

j. What is the duration of the event?

The SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 will be conducted between 20th April and 10th May,
2022. The final sport wise schedule will be published on our website i.e. www.sfaplay.com at
least 15 days prior to the Championship. The matches will be conducted from 8 am to 5.30
pm on all days of the schedule; however, schedules for different sports may vary. There will
be special considerations for few sports which may require more time to be completed.

k. What documents need to be carried by athletes (students) during the tournament?

Every athlete (student) must carry his/her school ID card along with his/her age proof (Aadhar
Card Preferred) at all times during the tournament. No athlete (student) will be allowed to
play the match if they do not have a valid age proof along with their school ID. Athletes
(students) must produce their ID cards when required during the tournament. These details

l. What is the reporting time for the athletes (students)?

The athlete (student) needs to report 60 minutes prior at the registration desk to get
himself/herself verified and 15 minutes prior to the sport specific desk to report for his/her
match. There will be clear directional signage to guide players at the venue.

m. Do packages hold any bearing on the seeding’s at SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022?
 No, the benefits of all packages are as mentioned on our website www.sfaplay.com. Seeding’s
in all sports at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022 are strictly under the purview of
certified officials of the respective national/state/district sport federations/associations.

n. Can an athlete (students) register on the spot?

No. Spot registrations are not accepted at the SFA Championship Uttarakhand 2022. An
athlete (student) must register himself/herself before the last date of registration.
