Subject: - 17th National Youth Athletics Championships 2022


Dear Sir,
I am pleased to inform you that 17th National Youth Athletics Championships 2022 is scheduled
to be held at T.T. Nagar, Stadium, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) from 17-19 September 2022 in place
of 23-25 September 2022..

The Championships and events shall be organized in accordance with the Rules of World Athletics-
Competition & Technical Rules & Indian Athletics Manual (updated as on 01.10.2020).

The SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) issued by Govt. of India/MYAS/SAI/AFI & Government of
Madhya Pradesh shall be followed for hosting this National Athletics Championships.

This Championships will serve as trials for selection of Athletes for 4th Asian Youth
Athletics Championships to be held at Kuwait from 13-16 October 2022.
Championships & Eligibility Details:
1. The individuals representing the “Affiliated States/UT Athletics Associations” will enter in the
Championships.
2. Each State can enter maximum THREE Athletes in each event.
3. An Athlete can enter in TWO individual events and ONE Relay event.
4. If both individual events are track events, only one of these events can be longer then 200m.
5. No athlete below 16 years of age is entitled to enter in this Championships.
6. Each team can enter maximum ONE Team in each Relay event. Four Athletes can enter in each
relay event in this Competition. Any Four Additional Athletes from among those entered for the
Competition, whether for Relay or any other event, may be used in the composition of the Relay
Team in any Round but they must have achieved Qualifying Standard in respective individual
Event.
7. Athletes Under 18 years Boys and Under 18 years Girls who were born between 1st January
2005 to 31st December 2006 will be eligible to enter in this competition.
8. The entries should be submitted “ONLINE” on AFI Website by the Affiliated States/UT from
01 September to 07 September 2022. Entries sent by the mode other than “ONLINE” will not
beaccepted. It should also be noted that athletes with AFI UID can only participate.
9. The athletes who meet the Entry Standards will only be allowed to enter in the Competition.
The performance must have been achieved either in National Championships/State
Championships or AFI recognized Championships where electronic system had been used. The
proof of achievement is mandatory to attach during the online entry.
10. Athletes have to carry negative RTPCR report even if they are vaccinated. Without valid RTPCR
report, athletes will not be allowed to enter in the Stadium. This report should only be 72 hours
prior to the commencement of the event.
11. Entry Fee of INR 500/- per event per athlete will have to be paid online alongwith entry. The
Last date for receipt of Entries is 07 September 2022. In no case, entries after the target date
willbe entertained.
12. Age Verification of the Athletes will be done a day prior to the Competition Day.
13. You are requested to kindly advise Athletes to prepare the Passport in advance for the
selection for 4th Asian Youth Athletics Championships 2022.
Entry Standard:
Entry Standards will be sent separately. It is once again advised to send the entry of only those
athletes who have achieved the Entry standards fixed by AFI and the proof is must to be attached in
online portal, failing which the entry of an Athlete will be rejected.

BIB Nos:
Bib nos. will be issued to concerned Manager One day prior of the start of Championships.
Medals & Certificates:
No Medal ceremony will be conducted. However, the medals and participation Certificates will be
issued during the course of the Competition. Participation Certificates will be issued only to those
athletes who achieve the qualification standards set by AFI. The exact time for distributions of
certificates will be notified. It is, therefore, the responsibility of Managers/Athletes to collect the
Participation Certificates by depositing the BIB Number with the concerned official. The Merit
Certificates will be sent directly to the athlete on the registered address in AFI UID only after
receiving the “Dope Test”report from NADA.

Dope Samples:
Dope Samples will be collected by the officials of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

Boarding & Lodging:


Pleased be informed that the Boarding, Lodging & Local Transport facilities to participating Athletes
will not be provided by the Athletics Federation of India. Athletes will therefore have to make their
own arrangements in this regard.

It may please be noted that other guidelines issued by the concerned State Government in
connection with Covid-19 Pandemic, shall be strictly followed to ensure that the competition is
conducted smoothly. Any Athlete/Official violating the SOP, Guidelines issued with regard to Covid-
19 Pandemic will be debarred from participation in this Championships.

AFI or Organizing State Unit will not be held responsible directly or indirectly for any loss of
life/damage/illness/injury in connection to participation in 17th National Youth Athletics
Championships 2022. All Athletes/officials/vendors have to participate on their own risk.
You are requested to bring it to the notice of your athletes.
