The graph illustrates information about the consumption of renewable energy in the USA
over a period of 59 years, from 1949 to 2008. The results are also revealing the main energy
sources. The units are measured in quadrillions of Btu.
Overall, it can be observed that the consumption of renewable energy increased over the
period under consideration. Initially, only hydroelectric and wood sources were utilized, but
by the end of the period, biofuels and wind sources had begun to contribute significantly to
the production of energy.
In terms of total consumption, it began slightly above 3 quadrillion Btu in 1949, growing
steadily and reaching a peak of about 7 quadrillion Btu in 1997. Hydroelectric and wood
sources started at 1.8 quadrillion Btu and gradually increased their production capacity to 2
quadrillion Btu by the end of the period.
Another thing to point out is that biofuels and wind sources emerged in 1981, experiencing
modest growth until the year 2000. Subsequently, biofuels experienced a rapid ascent,
reaching approximately 1 quadrillion Btu in 2008.

The bar chart illustrates information about the relative electricity consumption and cost per
year of various household devices. The units are measured in kilowatts-hours per year and
dollars per year.
Overall, it can be observed that the spa (pump and heater) and the pool pump are the
household devices with the highest consumption and cost of electricity per year, whereas
electric blanket, microwave oven, and television are the devices with the lowest consumption
and cost of electricity per year.
In detail, the spa has a consumption above 2000 kWh/year and its cost is more than $166.
The pool pump and the refrigerator have a consumption of about 1250 kWh/year, while their
cost is approximately $100. The electric blanket, microwave oven, and the television have
an average consumption per year of less than 500 kWh, and a cost of less than $42.
Another thing to point out is that the rest of the household devices fall between these
extremes. The electricity consumption of these devices ranges between 500 and 1000
kWh/year, with a cost ranging from $42 to $83.

The diagram illustrates the process of electricity generation by a hydroelectric dam. Each
part of the dam is labeled in the figure. Overall, it can be observed the path of the water
through the dam and where the process of electricity generation occurs.
To begin, the water is stored in a large reservoir to accumulate potential energy. Then, the
water descends, passing through an intake and a penstock with high velocity converting the
potential energy into kinetic energy until it reaches the turbine. Here, the kinetic energy is
transformed into electricity through the rotation of the turbine, which is connected to the
generator inside the powerhouse.
Finally, using cables connected to the generator, the electricity is transported over long
distances through power lines until it reaches cities. After passing through the turbine, the
water is released back into the river to continue with its natural course, causing no damage
to the ecosystem.

The two maps depict the distribution of an industrial area in the town of Norbiton, in its
current state and its planned reformation. Overall, it can be observed that new facilities will
be added, and the infrastructure will be renovated.
To begin, in the current map, it is possible to see that the industrial area is located to the
East of the town. There are some companies situated along the roads, and a significant
amount of available land for future development. At the bottom of the image lies the main
road, while to the north, the river runs from east to west. To the north of the river, there is
farmland.
In the future development plan, the intention is to remove the factories and replace them
with various buildings such as housing, shops, a medical center, and a school, among
others. A new roundabout will be constructed on the lower road, and a bridge passing
through the river will be added to improve communication between the town and the
farmland.

The diagram illustrates the current layout of southwest airport and its upcoming
refurbishment. Overall, it is noticeable that the facility will undergo expansion, with new
facilities added next year.
Nowadays, on the left side, the airport has a departure area, where there is a café and a
check-in desk. After this, there is the security passport control section. On the right side one
can find the arrivals area, currently empty, and the passport control customs. Eight boarding
gates with a short walkway are situated at the back.
In the upcoming renovation, the departure area will additionally have a bag drop and one
extra door, the check-in desk and the café will remain there, but they will be relocated. After
passing through the security passport control, new shops will be installed. The arrivals area
will have one extra door, and amenities such as a café, ATM, and car hire depots will be
installed. Finally, ten new boarding gates will be constructed, arranged along the Y-shape
space, with a sky train replacing the existing walkway.
