Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I believe you all had a meaningful and blessed Lenten season this year. The culmination of Lent is
in Easter Sunday, where we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Easter gives us the
inspiration and strength to move forward both in our spiritual and worldly life with hope and faith. I
want to appreciate all of you for bringing up meaningful biblical reflection on each day as part of
our Parish’s lent meditation. I hope it might have personally helped you to know the God’s Word
more intimately. Also, I thank and appreciate Mr. Anand Varghese, Mr. Justin Israel, Mr. Bijil Paul and
Mr. Manoj David for opening their doors for conducting the special Lenten cottage prayers.

• Historic victory in STEFM Cricket tournament.

My heartfelt appreciation goes to our cricket team for making history by winning a match for the
first time in the STEFM Cricket tournament held on 11th of March at Cranbourne. The MCSI family
acknowledges the priceless contributions of Mr. Sunish Varghese, Mr. Joshy John, Mr. Ashok Varkey.
Mr. Thaju Mathew and all the other players.

• Holy Confirmation Service.

It is a landmark in the history of our parish that 10 children were confirmed and entered to the full
fellowship of the church. Bishop Dr. Paul Barker, Bishop of Jumbunna episcopate in Anglican
Diocese of Melbourne led the service. The service was remarkable by a large attendance of people
from various realms of society.

• Hosanna Sunday
Hosanna Sunday, to commemorate the Triumphal entry of Jesus to Jerusalem was celebrated with
much enthusiasm. Hosanna Sunday procession on the street of Ashwood was a mark of public
witness of Gospel.

• Deanery meeting
Monthly meeting of Mount Waverly deanery was held in our Church on 21st Thursday. Dean
Rev.Ruth Newmarch led the meeting. St. Matthew’s congregation fed the meeting with a delicious
lunch.

• EPIC Training program

As the part of the ADOM’s pastors training program the vicar attended the EPIC training at St.
Hillary’s Hall, Kew.

• Easter Pageant 2024

This program was conducted on Holy Saturday as part of Parish’s easter vigil. The entire program
was blessed by people’s participation and meaningful programs conducted by different church
organizations. I appreciate Mr. Manoj David and Ms. Priya Justin for coordinating the event and all
who worked behind the delicious dinner at the end.

• Easter Sunday Service

A special Holy Communion service was conducted at 7:30 am in the morning on Easter Sunday.
The service was followed by a special Easter breakfast too.

• Sunday Service Time change.

As discussed, and resolved in our half yearly general body meeting Malayalam Sunday service
will be at 10:45 am and Sunday school at 9:30 am with effect from the first week of April. Make
note of this change and do attend the church without fail.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
Youth Fellowship meets fortnightly on Tuesdays through zoom platform and study the Bible.
Encourage all youngsters of our parish to participate in the activities of the Youth Fellowship.

CHOIR
Parish Choir meets for practice every Sunday after the Holy Communion Service at the church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Regular Sunday School classes are held every Sunday after the Holy Communion Service at the rear hall
of the church.

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP
The women of our church meet last Sunday of every month after the service at the church.
Encourage all women in our parish to participate in the activities of the Women’s Fellowship.

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP
The Men’s Fellowship meets fourth Sundays of every month after the service at the church.
For further details, please contact Mr Renji Cherian.

YOUNG FAMILIES' FELLOWSHIP

The Young Familes' Fellowship meets second Sundays of every month after the service at the church.

FASTING PRAYER MINISTRY

Our Vicar and some members meet every Fridays at 10:00am at the church for fasting prayer.

ONLINE BIBLE STUDY MINISTRY

Our Vicar leads a Bible Study every Wednesday at 08:00pm via Zoom platform.

COTTAGE PRAYER
Cottage prayers are held once every month at 07:00pm at the residence of a church member.
Encourage all members to participate in the prayer meetings.
