JOB DESCRIPTION

Mission

As the Product Manager of Tutors and Staff Experience, you will spearhead the development of a transformative K-12
education online tutoring product that drives measurable academic outcomes with priority schools and students and
propels FEV Tutor to become the #1 direct-to-district tutoring provider in the United States.

Role

Your role will specifically own the tutor and internal staff product areas. You will help us achieve a great experience for
our freelance tutors (think like Uber drivers) that will drive them enjoying working at FEV, while also working with our
internal users (think tutor managers) in improving their tools and reducing their manual work through automation and
business process reengineering (BPR).

You will have:

• 3+ years of experience in a Product Manager role, where you interfaced directly with customers, doing
continuous discovery of their needs and wants, and designing high level solutions as low fidelity wireframes
and technical specifications.
• You drove vision and roadmap for at least 1 product area
• You have the ability to create wireframes that make UX sense, as a way to storytell and communicate
the concept-level solution
• You have managed communications including to management, but also managed training of internal
resources as you led change management within an organization
• You have worked within an engineering system such as Jira or Azure DevOps to ensure that scope of
engineering work is complete and well defined
• You have interfaced with Product Owners or Scrummasters to help ensure that the vision is understood
as they interface daily with the engineering teams
• You have developed great working relationships with everyone but in particular with your customers
and users, and engaged them in a customers advisory function
• You have experience in product analytics, and have a keen analytical mind that is curious and wants to
prove success through metrics

• Product vision and strategy translated into detailed requirements and prototypes drive measurable
enhancements, meet customer needs, improve the user experience, accelerate academic outcomes, and
achieve business growth objectives.
o Systematically leverage customer needs and business objectives to scope, prioritize and drive
product development priorities.
o Engage with Engineering and involve other internal stakeholders in agile development processes
that maximize both the efficiency and effectiveness of release cycles.
o Articulate what success looks like; rally teams internally to turn product vision into reality and
achieve that success together.

• High-Impact Tutoring expertise, evidence-based models, and academic outcomes are systematically
spread throughout the company and the broader market while accelerating our expansion rate to serve
more schools and students.
o Establish winning relationships with Sales, CX, and Marketing and partner to showcase the
ingredients (learning sciences) that inform our product design and the outcomes (academic impact)
that result.
o Represent the company as a HIT expert out in the field by presenting at conferences, co-hosting
webinars, participating in thought leadership platforms, and by strategically engaging in HIT
partnerships with k12 school districts.
o Partner with 3rd Party Research groups and internal C&I, Data, and Tutoring teams to advance
our research & evidence foundation.

• Current product offerings are clearly defined, along with a roadmap to strengthen and expand.
o Analyze tutoring KPIs, customer feedback, and academic outcomes data while clearly defining
current product offerings. Articulate current offerings to the broader company and market through
a menu of options (i.e., HIT program models).
o Partner with Tutoring, C&I, and Engineering to identify opportunities for improvement in
current models and achieve next-level outcomes together.
o Develop and implement a product roadmap grounded in market research that unlocks an
expanded menu of product offerings.

• Strategic product pricing and positioning drive both scaled adoption and increased profitability.
o Expert in the competitive HIT landscape. Business analyst.
o Partners with Product, Sales, and Other Executives to recommend and enact pricing and
positioning strategies that catalyze scaled adoption and increase profitability.
