My Last Vacation Experience

Vacations, a time where you can go to different places, relax, or visit your
relatives. Some people might take vacations to try and see new things, or to
enjoy the peacefulness of their home country. Either way, most people have
many vacation experiences to share, including my own experience. The last
vacation I’ve had was through July to August 2022. I went to my home country,
Indonesia, and visited places like Jogja, Pekanbaru, and Bali. On my vacation, I
traveled with my family and met my relatives throughout the trip. In this essay, I
will be talking about my experiences of getting to the country, the flight, the
places I visited, and the things we did.

My family decided it would be smart for us to come early so we can do

other things inside while waiting. Therefore, we left five hours early, before the
flight’s boarding time. Inside of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport
(MMIA), my family and I were checking out and doing security checks. After a
long time, we went to go find our lounge area and began waiting before our flight
that was two to three hours. It was getting near boarding time, so we left our
delightful lounge and went to the boarding gate. Once it was boarding time, we
prepared ourselves to go and board our flight to Indonesia.

On the plane, since it has been a long time since we’ve been on a
vacation, my parents decided we can go on business class for this vacation.
Because of the different flight class, our sitting positions were different. In most
vacations, we would all sit next to each other because we were on economy. But
instead, we sat across from each other since the seats in business class took
more space. The seating area definitely felt more comfortable and spacious than
economy class. Even if the seating arrangement was different, I didn’t mind it all
too much. It has multiple food options that were delicious, a television with new
entertainment, and different seating options. The whole flight was a very new and
enjoyable experience that I wasn’t used to. If I could ride on that flight again, I
would gladly take the option.

Moving forward to the actual trip, we went to Jogja, Pekanbaru, and Bali.
Firstly, I went to Jogja with my family, aunts, cousins, and relatives. All of us
planned to stay in Jogja for a week and continue on our vacation. The first
destination we went to was the Buddhist temple in Magelang Regency,
Borobudur temple. Since most of the signs were in Bahasa, and I only
understand some of the language, my parents bought a tour guide to explain the
history and beliefs of the temple. Overall, I was invested in the history/reason of
creating the building and found the beliefs of people back then very interesting.
We all took many pictures of the temple, and bought many souvenirs. A few days
later after the trip, we went to Hindu temple named Prambanan. Here, we only
took some pictures and family group photos. Leading up to the end of my trip in
Jogja.

For the second part of the trip, my family and I went to Pekanbaru and
stayed there for three days. We decided to come back here after four years,
since it was the place where I was born. During the trip, we didn’t take many
photos because we were mostly here for business reasons and to meet old
friends. I got to meet many people that we used to visit and talked a lot about
things in our life so far. Since, it has been a long time since we've seen or talked
to each other. After those few days, we continued on to our next part of the trip.

Finally, the last place I traveled to was Bali. I was especially excited for this
part of the trip since my brother and I have never been to Bali before, unlike the
previous places. Because of this, my parents wanted to make our first experience
a special one. We stayed at Villa Jerami for around a week, which was
something I have never encountered before. It was completely different from
hotels, as the place was mostly outdoor. But even so, it was a pleasant
experience and felt good to do something different than what we usually do. My
mom's friend's family were also coming to Bali, so we decided to go to different
attractions together such as Bedugul Temple, Uluwatu, and Blue Earth Village. In
Batur Lake, where the Bedugul temple is located, we took loads of pictures and
explored the place. Afterwards, we went to Uluwatu, where we took lots of
pictures, as well as watching a traditional Kecak dance. Lastly, we went to Blue
Earth Village, took lots of pictures of its temple, enjoyed its restaurants, and went
home, finishing our trip in Bali.

Leaving it to the end of my vacation in Indonesia. Overall, I absolutely

loved the places I went to and it was a nice experience. It was a relaxing trip and
the new things I learnt on the way were very enlightening. The trip also helped
me build my relationships with my friends and family and meet new people. If I
could go on a trip like this again, I would definitely and immediately do it again.
