Instructions - How to use the Excel Food Cost Calculator
Ingredients

Before you start to calculate the food cost of a certain recipe, we recommend to take the time to fill in some of your ingredients
1. In the first column you fill in the common name of the ingrediënt. If you have more ingredients of the same type, specify it in
2. In the second column, you can fill in the EAN code. This is not necessary but will make your life easier when you ever consi
3. Fill in the order number of the ingredient in column 3 and your supplier name in column 4. Again, not necessary but recomm
4. Fill in the price and unit in column 5 and 6. This data will be used in the recipe cost.

Recipe Cost

1. Enter the name of the ingredients for your recipe in the cell "Name" (potatoes, pasta, lettuce,...). A dropdown will appear wit
2. Enter the quantity of the ingredient needed for preparation in Grams (100 Gm, 200 Gm)
3. The price of the ingredient will be fetched from the Ingredients tab
4. "Total Price" calculates cost of by multiplying cost of ingredient per amount of weight used in your recipe

Total Cost

Calculates total food cost of the recipe

Selling Price & VAT

In the cell "Selling Price" put the price of the dish as per your menu or the price that this dish will sell for including VAT.
In the cell "VAT %", fill in the percentage of VAT charged in the selling price.

Food Cost Percentage & Net Profit

Food Cost Percentage calculates the % of total food cost compared to the selling price excl. VAT.
Net Profit calculates the net profit you make on this recipe.
