FAQs – Mandatory Online Training for New Hires

1. What is mandatory online training for new hires?

Mandatory online training for new hires consists of a variety of online courses that all new starters are required
to complete before their first shift in store. These courses ensure that all new team members have the

2. Who is required to complete this training?

Any new team member starting employment within the 7-Eleven network of stores is required to complete
the mandatory online training. A new team member is an individual who is not currently already employed
within the 7-Eleven network of stores and who has not worked within the 7-Eleven network for 6 months or
more.

NB: If you have previously been employed within the 7-Eleven network and you have been “re-hired”
anywhere in the network within the last 6 months, your prior service will be recognised for the purposes of
the mandatory online training and you will not be required to complete these courses again.

3. How is mandatory training and payment handled for change over

stores?
If you are impacted by a change over, either in the circumstance of a franchise store changing to corporate
store, a corporate store moving to a franchise operation or a franchise store moving to a franchise store,
where you have already completed and been paid for the mandatory training component you will not receive
an additional payment or be required to complete the mandatory training again.

FAQs Regarding Mandatory Online Training for New Hires

4. How do I access the mandatory online training modules?

New team members will automatically receive direct emails and notifications via Workday to complete the
required learning in Workday. The training will be allocated overnight once all onboarding tasks have been
successfully completed. Please allow up to 12 hours for training to be assigned. You will receive email and
Workday notifications once training is assigned.

Once training is allocated, Team members MUST enroll into the required learning by clicking on the orange
‘enroll’ button at the bottom of the program. If you have been enrolled directly into a course, please click
on ‘begin’.

If you do not receive the notifications to complete the online training within 2 weeks of accepting your
offer and completing all necessary onboarding requirements, please notify your store leader.

5. How long does the training take?

The online courses you are required to complete will depend on the type of store you will be working within:

▪ For non-fuel stores in the Franchise network, the mandatory online training should take no longer
than 2 hours and 40 minutes in total to complete (minimum of 3 hours is paid due to award
requirements);

▪ For Fuel stores in the Franchise network, the mandatory online training should take no longer than 3
hours in total to complete; and

▪ For CoHo stores, the mandatory online training should take no longer that 4 hours and 30 minutes
in total to complete.

Please note that the mandatory courses do not all need to be completed at once. Each course is a standalone
course and can be completed individually. When completing your training, please ensure you do not take any
more than the maximum allotted time for each course and that you only complete your training during
normal business hours, Monday to Friday.

6. When do I need to complete the training?

You will be required to complete all your assigned mandatory courses before you commence your first
shift.

All mandatory courses must be completed during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.

7. How will I be paid for the training?

All new starters are entitled to receive a one-off New Hire Training Payment upon the completion of
all the assigned mandatory online courses.
This payment will be made, less applicable taxation, in the next available pay cycle after you have
completed all of your mandatory courses.

NB: This payment will usually be within a week of completion but may fall into the next pay period if you
completed the training after payroll cut-off.

FAQs Regarding Mandatory Online Training for New Hires

The gross one-off New Hire Training Payment will be calculated as follows:

• Your base hourly rate of pay X the maximum allotted time to complete the required mandatory
training courses (see Q5 above).

NB: If you take longer to complete the training than the maximum allotted time, please advise your
Store Leader as soon as possible and provide them with information and any supporting
documentation to confirm the reason and how long you took so this can be factored in as appropriate
when we process your training payment.

8. What should I do if I do not receive payment?

If you do not receive payment of the one-off New Hire Training Payment as expected, please contact
24/7 Support on 24-7support@7eleven.com.au.
Please note, you will be able to see payment of the New Hire Training Payment on your payslip.

9. Do I get paid for any non-mandatory new hire or refresher

training?
Yes, team members are paid for all time spent training. Please note, however, that non-
mandatory new hire training and refresher training are all required to be completed by team
members in store, on shift. Payment for time spent completing this training is part of what you
would normally receive during that shift and no additional payment will be payable. If you have
completed a non-mandatory or refresher course outside of work, please notify your store leader
as soon as possible.

For reference, all required learning courses will be refreshed annually based on your
anniversary date, to ensure you are kept up-to-date with the current operating procedures
and guidelines.
