indicating the time and date for technical problems or in case of illness, a sick note for the entire duration
that the assessment was open. Any absences, issues or technical problems reported later than 24
hours after the assessment is due will not be accepted and 0% will be awarded.

4 ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS

All assessments for this module can be found on myUnisa and will become available on a
staggered basis throughout the semester.

Information on the four compulsory assessments (assessments 1 – 4) for this module is contained in
SECTION 3 ABOVE. The following is an explanation of the table in Section 3:

• Assessment – This is the name of the assessment. There are four compulsory assessments.
These assessments should be completed online and on time.
• Contribution to final mark – This is the percentage the assessment will contribute to your final
mark of 100%. Remember, there is no examination for this module, no supplementary examination
and no FI Concessions. You need to get a combined weighted average of 50% to pass this
module. You need to monitor your marks closely during the semester to make sure you pass.
• Opening date – This is when the assessment will become available on myUnisa.
• Closing date – This is the date and time the assessment will close. It would be extremely risky to
wait until this date to submit. I advise you not to wait until this date to complete and submit
assessments. There will be no extensions on these dates. If you miss any assessment, you forfeit
the percentage towards your final mark. You will thus get 0% for that assessment.
• Type of assessment – The majority of assessments are written assessments for which you will
receive the questions in a Tutorial Letter on myUnisa; you will need to complete the questions and
upload them as a typed PDF (no handwritten assessments will be accepted). Assessment 01 will
be in the form of an online quiz on myUnisa. The online quiz will be multiple choice questions.
• What you need to prepare for this assessment – This refers to the case studies in the Business
Cases prescribed book that you will need to consult to complete the assessments, as well as the
learning units in the study guide and theory chapters in the Strategic Marketing book you will need
to study to complete the assessments. These are prescribed books for this module.

5 PASSING THIS MODULE

You need to complete assessments 1 - 4 on myUnisa and get a combined average weighted final mark
of 50% to pass this module. There is no examination, supplementary examination or FI concession for
this module. Therefore, there is also no aegrotat opportunities. You will need to:

 follow academic integrity policies.

 work throughout the semester.
 carefully check your own progress during the semester, to make sure that you are doing enough to
pass.
 NOT SKIP ANY ASSESSMENTS.

For all other information regarding module MNM3709, you should still refer to Tutorial letter 101.

Mrs Letitia Fourie
