a) ASSIMILATION
Assimilation is a social process, in this process a person or
group acquire culture of an other group. For example if a
Hindu will convert his or her religion into Islam it can be
understood as assimilation.
b) ANTICIPATORY SOCIALIZATION
In Socialisation process a person learns how to behave in a
society. In Anticipatory Socialisation a person learns the
culture from the group where he or she is not the member.
For example the army training.
c) TWO FEATURES OF PRIMITIVE SOCIETY
The primitive society means the ancient society where
people were doing hunting gathering. The two features of
primitive society are;

means when people compete for one goal which can’t be

Social process means something which is continuously
going on in the society. There are two types of social
processes such as

g) MERIT OF CONFLICT
Conflict is always negative for society but some time due
to conflict it is possible to make new laws. If someone
creating conflict then he or she punished and other
members are getting the lessons.

h) DEFINE GAME STAGE


According to G.H Mead game stage is the third stage of
socialisation. It started after the age of 6. In this stage a
child learns the actual meaning of the role he or she
playing.
I) SUPER EGO
According to Sigmund Frued there are three components
of our personality Id, Ego and Super ego. Super ego is very
moral and ethical and it Is very mature and it always
focuses on right things only.
j)_SUBLIMATION

Sublimation is one of method for accommodation. In
sublimation a person use non violence to counter the
violence attitude.

a)_CO OPERATION vs CONFLICT
Co operation is a social process where people work
together to gain common end. Conflict is the opposite of
cooperation where a people struggle with each other to
gain a common end.
DIFFERENCE
1. Cooperation is associative social process but conflict
is dissociative social process.
2. Co operation is universal and continues but conflict is
universal and not continues.
3. Co operation may be conscious or unconscious but
conflict is mostly conscious.
4. The form of cooperation is not similar to the forms of
conflict.

5. Co operation is important for group life but conflict is
not.
b)_SOCIAL ORGANISMIC THEORY
This theory is inspired by Hebert Spencer. He compared
society with living organisms. According to him there are
various parts of human body and every part should be
functional properly. In the same way society has various
parts like institution, community, group, etc. These parts
should be also function properly.
c) FEATURES OF CULTURE
Culture is learnt behaviour, belief system, norms, rituals
etc. Culture is influenced by our daily life and habits and it
is transmitted from one generation to an other. There are
various features of culture.

Social control means the control of the people by the
society. There are various ways to control the people.
Religion is one of informal way to control people. Every
religion has some rules and regulations that controls the
behaviour of the people. If they will not follow the rules
and regulations then the god may get angry and punish.
With this belief system the people are controlled.

e) ASSIMILATION VS ACCOMMODATION
Assimilation is a social process, in this process a person or
group acquire culture of an other group. Accommodation
is also a social process where a person modifies his or her
behaviour to adjust in the society.
DIFFERENCE
1. Accommodation can takes place suddenly but
assimilation is slow and gradual process.
2. Accommodation may not provide permanent solution
but assimilation provides permanent solution.
3. Accommodation can be both positive and negative but
assimilation is positive.

f)_INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY

The industrial society is the result of the process of
industrial revolution. Due to industrial revolution there
were various factories were formed which provided job
opportunities to people. In result the industrial society was
formed. The modern society can be understood as
industrial society. In this society the population is very
high and there more division of labour.

g)_METHODS OF ASSIMILATION
Assimilation is a social process, in this process a person or
group acquire culture of an other group. There are various
methods of assimilation Such as

h)_HINDERING FACTOR OF ASSIMILATION
Assimilation comes under the associative social process. It
is because assimilation can bring permanent solution to the
problem but there are various factors which hinders the
process of assimilation such as ;

I)_GENERALISED OTHERS
This concept was given by G. H. Mead is his theory of self.
According to him in the process of Socialisation a child
learns about self and others. The others are two types
significant and generalised others. The significant others
are those who are very important for the child for example
father and mother. Generalised others are the other
relatives of the child who are not so important to him or her
j)_SOCIAL CONTRACT THEORY
Social contract theory was given by three philosophers
such as Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Rousseau.
According to this theory society is organised because of the
mutual agreement among the people. The agreement is to
help each other when it is required.Every one has to follow
the agreement for the betterment of society otherwise they
will be punished by the representative govt.
