Introduction
Effective communication between teachers and students is essential for academic achievement and
overall well-being. However, language barriers can hinder this communication process. This action
research aims to explore strategies to improve teacher-student interactions when language differences
exist.
Problem Statement
Problem: Language barriers lead to miscommunication between teachers and students, affecting
learning outcomes and engagement.
Research Questions
What are the primary language-related challenges faced by teachers and students?
Objectives
We will use a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection methods:
Survey Questionnaires: Administer surveys to teachers and students to understand their experiences
and perceptions regarding language barriers.
Interviews and Focus Groups: Conduct interviews and focus group discussions to delve deeper into
specific challenges and potential solutions.
Expected Outcomes
Strategies Development: Based on our findings, we will create practical strategies to improve
communication.
Timeline
Budget
We estimate a budget of PhP20,000 for this action research, covering materials, surveys, and focus
group logistics.
