2023-183517 ARC232-A ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 1: INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN The design was inspired by the infamous barako coffee beans of batangas and some other materials that will be discussed along the way. The idea is to create a Christmas ball kind of thing for the upcoming Christmas event that will be formed by the architecture students of NU-Lipa. As I was searching for some design ideas, I remembered the activity that I did when I was in junior high-school, the dream catcher. Because of that, I decided to use that concept as my design as Christmas season is also a place to catch and place dreams. With the help of the glue gun, I fully covered two wooden circles with coffee beans, I did this with four different sizes. Next is I used paler strings to assemble them all, I also used these strings to resemble the web looking things inside a dream catcher. And last, instead of using artificial feathers, I used chicken feathers as a representation of the “Panabong” which also represents the fighting spirits of the Batangueños.
