Having Fun in the Kohola Class

March was a blast! We had fun dressing up during spirit week, enjoyed
Dr.Suess books/activities and learned about Easter. This month we will
learn about how to reduce, reuse and recycle our trash. We will also be
going on our first off campus field trip to Windward Community College
Hokulani Imagnarium on Thursday April 18th.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle April Focus

This month’s investigation is all about
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. As we study
items that we throw away and how we • Reduce, Reuse and
can reduce, reuse and recycle, we will
learn concepts and skills in literacy, math, Recycle
science, social studies, the arts and
technology. We will also be developing

thinking skills to observe, investigate, ask • Letter Study: V, W, X, Y, Z
questions, solve problems, make
predictions and test our ideas.

At home, help raise your child’s • Signs of New life
awareness of the kinds of trash and
garbage your family creates and

where it goes. Borrow library books
or recycle at home.

Spring Pictures Reminder:

We will be taking our Spring Pictures! Dress your child in in their “Sunday best” clothes and
follow the guidelines listed below:
No strapless tops (unless covered with a cardigan/bolero, etc.)
No board shorts, basketball/soccer shorts
No inappropriately short shorts/skirts
No tee shirts
No rubber slippers, Crocs and the like

No shoes with heels (wear athletic shoes)

*Please bring a school uniform to change into after our picture taking.

Dates to Remember:
• Monday 4/1: No School. Easter Monday
• Thursday 4/4: Spring pictures
• Thursday 4/18: Field trip to Windward Community College Hokulani Imaginarium.
